Is it wrong that I want to take a parenting course next year just for the sole fact that I'll be able to carry around a plastic baby doll for about a week?

Definitely not, you wouldn't be the first I've met who do a childcare course at school for that very reason. Just be prepared, they sound almost as hard to deal with as real babies ;D
