ok listen i read a topic about that if your tama is alive it beeps really qiuetly if you put it up to your ear so i did that with my V3 and it was silently beeping but when i put my V4 up to my ear it wasn't beeping but it is alive today it is turning 6 years and it is a news reporter and its fine but it isn't beeping

 
well, if you have had the sound turned off for a while you won't hear a faint beeping, more like a faint buzzing. it's nothing to worry about. have you had the sound turned off for a while on your v4?

 
its just a better quieter function that saves batteries

 
I just noticed that yesterday. It's probably just because the sound is different. I like listening to my v3 beep, it's sort of like a heart beat.
