The closing down of TamaCHAT has been a sore spot for many. I know many TamaTalkers enjoyed being able to chat with their TT friends. The decision to close chat was made after seeing the problems our old chat caused for the site. When chat was open we had problems with the site being slow and times when it wouldn't load at all. The tough choice to close chat again was made... But it was not forgotten.

We are testing out a new solution that allows us to open chat back up without problems to the main TamaTalk site. The only thing is that we need to test it out to make sure it will work for us. So TamaCHAT returns NOW! :huh:

We have two weeks to try it out for free. If it works I will buy the service for TamaTalk. Please go to chat when you have a chance. Let us know if you have any problems with it by posting here.

Hopefully this is something that works for us. I know a LOT of people have asked for chat to return.

PS - There has been some confusion as to what Java is exactly. The simple explanation is that Java is a way for people to write software that can run on different types of computers (like Windows, Mac, Linux and more). TamaCHAT not working for you? Install Java on your computer. Java is free to install. You can go to this page (thanks Haze!) and click the Download Now link at the top under where it says "Java Software Free Download." I'd like to know if it is a big problem for lots of people. So far it is a much more powerful way to run chat. I want to make sure it works for us though!

Yikes! Sorry about those pop-ups. I didn't realize thats what it did! Should be gone now (log out and back in just in case you were logged in when I made the change).

Fix the problem?

Still gettin those pop ups Admin what ever you just did didn't help it has something to do with java please get rid of it

tama_stacey_c, what kind of pop up blocker do you have? Do you use Internet Explore or Fire Fox? You should try out Fire Fox, as it has a good pop up blocker called Ad-block.

For those of you who use a Script blocker you will need to allow-addonchat.com to your allowed list.
