When I debugged my V4, I noticed that the characters like the hamburger, the egg, and the triplet rectangles weren't there anymore. Why is that?

They probably should not have been in any non-Japanese version in the first place, since they were only for the Japanese version (the 2004 model "Tamagotchi Plus"). Here are some pages from a Japanese Tamagotchi Plus guide book, showing the Burgertchi and Tamagotchi characters:
