:D i woke up this morning and when i got my tama the battery was dead i was sooooo upset!!!!  ;) i was on the second generation aswell. Please could you tell me is their anyway i can recharge my batteries. I know they are not rechargeable but has anything worked for you? plz help

Never try to charge non-rechargeable batteries.

Modern Tamagotchi models (those made in the past several years, including V1, V2, V3 & V4) have a data retention feature. When you insert the new battery, press the Reset button on the back then select Download from the Download / Reset menu on the screen. You will get your previous Tamagotchi character back, with all its Gotchi points, meals & snacks, souvenirs, items, friends list, etc.

It's best to have spare new battery on hand.

Where I live the batteries aren't that much, you should just buy some more batteries.

Here's a picture/example of a tamagotchi battery Here.
