The phone is a code item, you don't get it from a teacher, if you actaully do have the phone it will be under items.

to use the phone you need to be an adult. when u are go to your items list and scroll through ur items until u find the phone and press middle button the phone will appear in front of your tama with 3 circles on top here are the phone numbers to call people.
just remember a-left button b- middle button c-right button

The teacher does not give you a phone. From entering a code, you receive the cell phone.
