It's only a fake Tamagotchi if it says Tamagotchi. There can be other virtual pets, it's not just Tamagotchis. There can also be other versions. Unless it says "BANDAI" or "TAMAGOTCHI" on the box or anywhere else, it's not a "fake Tamagotchi," just a different virtual pet.
