The documentary is called "An Inconvenient Truth" and its about global warming. I had never heard of it, until my brother said i should watch it. At first i was like, well this is a waste of time. But you NEED to realize that its not. Before i didnt really no what global warming was, but now i do. I am so glad my brother made me watch it, or i wouldnt even know what it meant or what it was. It's with Al Gore, and he was running for president with George Bush, like maybe 8 years ago or something. He lost, just because of the electric vote thing, but i really wish he did win. All Bush cares about is the war(yeah thats important, but he doesn't do anything else) but Al Gore actually would have done something about global warming. Whats more impoortant, the world and the human race, or some war? of coarse its the earth. We NEED to protect the Earth.

Please watch it, it changed my life and it will change yours.

:)

I've heard of it, seen it at Blockbuster (xD), but I've never actually watched it. I've heard from a lot of people here on TT that it's a very good, interesting, and educating movie.. But it's a touchy subject, so.. No, I've failed to watch it yet. But I think it sounds interesting (from what I've heard). :)

My science teacher made me watch it. He got introuble for not having are parents' permission though. xD

The documentry is exagerated, majorly- the New York Times actualy had an artcile on it [i'm trying to find it online].

And it's not like he's 'Mr. Environmental', Al Gore's land was searched for oil [with his permission of course]. I don't see him riding his bike to capital hill. It's like, he tells us to do all these things and yet his 'enviro house' uses more energy than mine.

Following your own directions speak louder than words.

Personaly I believe it's more of a convinate exageration.

[in addition to your post, I'm guessing you don't understand the electoral college- it's fair. That's how our goverment's run. He isn't the rightful president just because more people voted for him. Our country has been run like this for a looong time. Please understand what you are talking about before you event hink of calling it stupid.]

Actually, o be honest. I've never even heard of it!

If smeone could explain to me what it is then maybe i could catch up on something?

I do disagree on global warming, we all need to do our bit-recycling, taking showers instead of bath's. Yeah, if that's what your talking about?

I watched it a week ago for my homeschooling.

It scared me. It really did.

The thought of having California and Florida underwater in less than 50 years has made me realize that we really do need to take action.

My Mom was afraid that this movie would stress me out.

It's for our own good.

Global Warming is just a very hot day, nothing else! Everything is a scam! No state will go under water how can that happen? So there will be no judgement day for any state anywhere!

It's a slow process, and has to do with the science of the earth.

That's how it can happen.

Glaciers are melting, continents drifting, and water levels rising...

You'd be surprised of the changes these simple things can do.

I've seen it in stores, but I'll never watch it.

I'm not interested in hearing about global warming. I honestly don't care about it.

When I first saw the case I thought it was about penguins. False advertisement. <.<

I read some of the book (yes there is a book people!!!) but I didn't find any part about states going underwater.... what if all of North America does?! Noooooo! Well, I did get to the part about all the snow on Mount Everest melting up. Ooh.... scary.

<<<(>.<)>>> (quaking/shivering guy)

Global warming is a very tough subject, and honestly I'm not sure what to believe. As said before people exagerate a little too much about it, but it still scares me.

Honestly, I think the earth is just going through a phase, like it did in the ice age and things like that. We can do things to help it like recycle and not drive as much, but I think it's just a phase.

Global warming still scares me, even if it's real or not.

The earth naturally goes through warming and cooling trends (think of the ice ages). Right now, we are in a warming trend. Every once in a while, the magnetic poles flip which is thought to directly affect the weather - basically drastically altering the earth's weather and sending us into an ice age.

Al Gore is skewing information to highlight a problem that humans could not have caused over the 100-200 span of technological and industrial boom (including cars using gasoline and whatnot.) You may not realize it, but the issue of "global warming" is an industry - you have people pushing new lightbulbs, windows, cars, and other energy/enviromentally "friendly" products, and a lot of people go off and buy them. Therefore, there is a lot of money to make.

I do not think that Al Gore's documentary should be taught as if it were law. I do think that unbiased scientific work should be shown to students.

It is important to care about the enviroment, but "global warming" is not our fault - but Al Gore puts it that way. He was a politician, never a scientist.

I chose to ignore Al Gores over the top propiganda.

I can't believe schools showed that junk. It is exadurated. Kids believe everything they hear too. That is just wrong of the schools to make you see.

I know this sounds rude and selfish, but by the time global warming, if it really does exist, takes extreme life and death effects, I'll be dead.

*nods*

Very well put.

For the sheer sake of expanding on that thought...

You may be dead, but what about your children? Or their children? Etc.

The above statement and question moreso applies to the general outlook on world events and their effect on future generations, not just "global warming" because I personally don't believe in it.

I think it is important to care about actual issues that do hold impact on future generations.

See, that's why it's a selfish thought(If global warming does exist). If I do end up having children then I suppose I don't exactly care what happens to them. Or their children. And if my children care about their children... sorry, nothing I'm going to deal with.

I do understand what you're saying and it's a very good point.

I thought the movie was intresting. Now that Global Warming is taking its toll on the earth so people should know why its happening and how to prevent it.
