You'll face different problems of course, most notoriously the "oh god, we're going to high school and will never see each other again" cry-fest that many girls are apt to do. I recall in 8th grade how almost every girl in my class except me went around crying - even though they'd all be going to the same high school and not even moving to a different house. I told them not to be so silly and went around the class handing out tissues. They finished the large box.
Just enjoy yourself and don't worry about the coming year. I was in 8th grade a number of years ago, but things never really seem to change too much.
