Which control style will you use? Wii remote, Remote & Nunchuk, Classic controller or Gamecube controller?

Super Smash Bros Brawl is the third game in the Smash Bros. series which will be released for the Wii. Super Smash Bros. was first released on the Nintendo 64 and Super Smash Bros. Melee was released on the Nintendo Gamecube. Super Smash Bros is a fighting game, however not your typical health bar fighting game like Soul Calibur, Virtua Fighter or Tekken for example.

The aim is to hit your opponent out of the arena. Each time you damage your opponent their percentage increases, which means they are getting weaker and are easier to hit off the arena. Once they are hit off the arena the player receives a point. Each player can jump in mid-air meaning that when they are hit off they can attempt to try and get back onto the arena. The standard gameplay methods are "Time" and "Stock". In Time the player with the biggest score in a limited amount of time wins. In Stock battle each player receives a certain number of lives. The last player standing is the winner.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is expected to be the best in the series obviously and will have "online gameplay". The game will likely be controlled with the use of a Classic controller, as the makers of the game have stated that the game would feel better with a standard controller rather than the Nintendo Wii Remote. There has been limited coverage on the game, as Nintendo are keeping hush.

After "Mario And Sonic At The Olympic Games" was announced people have made Sonic a likely candidate for Smash Bros. Brawl.

Stages/ Arenas

Battlefield - A redesign of Battlefield featured in previous SSB games. Features a day and night turnover.

Delfino Plaza - Floating platform goes around the sunkissed tropical island at the plaza featured in Super Mario Sunshine. The platform merges into the land and arises again and repeats the cycle.

Mario Circuit - Mario Circuit from the Mario Kart series. Shyguys race around and drive into players on the stage.

Yoshi's Island - Yoshi Island cartoony graphical background with a day and night turnover.

Pokemon Stadium - It appears that the crowd cheers a lot more in Brawl.

Lylat Cruise - Here you fight on a ship named Pleiades, whilst warping through different areas of the Lylat System including Corneria. Often, you see the Starfox Team battle overhead.

Halberd - Metaknights ship from the Kirby series flies in the background. It first starts in the Halberds home, and the stage starts to fly along with the Halberd. Similar to the F-Zero stage on Smash Bros. Melee.

Metal Gear - Snake's stage, not much is shown from the trailers however it seems to be in the Helipad levels of Metal Gear Solid.

Skyworld - Platforms on the stage crumble if too much pressure is placed on them. It appears clouds appear as an alternative platform when they crumble. Kid Icarus' stage.

Castle Siege - A castle which appears in Fire Emblem makes an appearance. Players fight on the castle and the floor falls through, making the players fall underground to the lower level of the castle.

Temple - Maybe from inside the castle, or a completely different stage. This stage features some things that appear in Fire Emblem.

Bridge of Eldin - From Zelda Twilight Princess you fight on the famous bridge where you fought King Bulbin (who makes a cameo appearance). The stage is blown up by Bulbin in the middle and is restored after some time.

Smashville - Tour around "Smashville" in Animal Crossing scenery, whilst battling it out on a platform.

Rumble Falls - A DK stage where you have to climb up the stage whilst battling (like the Ice Climbers Melee Stage).

Items

Superscope (from SSBM).

Cracker Launcher - Launches firecrackers.

Smash Ball - An item that allows the player that picks it up to perform a final smash move. Each character has their own special final smash move.

Gooey Ball - Adhesive bomb that sticks to the opponent its thrown at. The opponent can stick it to someone else by touching another character.

Pokeball - Through a poke ball and a random pokemon fights to assist you.

Assist Trophies - Get an assist trophy and a friend helps you (e.g. Hammer Bro) by attacking your opponents.

Bumper - The classic item from Super Smash Bros 64, bumps players who touch it.

Pitfall - (From Animal Crossing) When thrown a pitfall becomes an invisible hole. If you step into the pitfall you'll fall through any fall-through holes.

Smokeball - When thrown the smoke ball unleashes smoke, so players can't see in a certain area.

Franklin Badge - For a limited time, carriers cannot be hit by projectiles. Projectiles will reflect off.
