I see that many people have been asking the same questions over and over about v4 and 4.5 Tamatown. So I'm going to make a guide just to answer as many questions as possible.
Q: What is Tamatown? Where is it?
A: Tamatown is a website where you can buy items and get souvenirs and Gotchi Points for your Tamagotchi. It's at tamatown.com.
Q: How do I log in to Tamatown?
A: First, open up Tamatown. Enter your Username in the box provided. To see your username, go to the Check Meter on your Tamagotchi and keep pressing A or B until it comes to your username.
Now go to the Communication icon (looks like a heart) on your Tamagotchi and choose "PC". You will get a password for Tamatown. Enter it in the password boxes and click "Login".
Q: "LOGIN PASSWORD ERROR, PLEASE TRY AGAIN" comes up when I try to log in. What have I done wrong?
A: Did you enter your Username? Your Username and your Tamagotchi's name are different. Your username is located on the screen in the check meter that says "USERNAME". It's the thing that you set right after setting your birthday.
Oh, and be careful not to mix up 8s and Bs, or 0s and Ds. They're pretty easy to mix up.
Q: My Tamagotchi is a toddler/teenager and I can't get into the preschool/school.
A: One hour after your Tamagotchi has evolved into a toddler/teenager it will be enrolled into preschool/school. If it hasn't been enrolled into preschool/school yet, then you won't be able to enter the buildings. Simple as that.
If your Tamagotchi is an adult and has graduated from school, the games in the school will no longer be available. Instead, you can get special souvenirs. Similarly, a teenager or adult no longer at preschool won't be able to play all of the preschool games.
Q: My Tamagotchi has gone on holiday, where do I get the password?
A: If your Tamagotchi has gone on holiday via the travel tickets, it'll say "VISIT! Tamatown". Log in as usual then go to the travel agency and you should get your souvenir.
Note that if you've been on two travel trips before logging in to Tamatown, you'll only get the souvenir for the most recent trip.
Q: I've donated 20 000p to the Gotchi King and still haven't gotten my password!
A: If you've donated 20 000p in only one or two goes, you won't get the password. You must donate that in at least three separate donations. So if you have donated 20 000p in only one or two goes, keep donating just 1p at a time until you get the "VISIT! Tamatown" message.
Q: My v4.5 character has changed into a v4 character on Tamatown!
A: Tamatown looks at your password to see what character your Tamagotchi is. Evidently it must have thought it was a v4 character. I wouldn't worry too much about this if I were you.
Q: How do I get Gotchi Points?
A: The Game Center has several games in which you can earn some Gotchi Points. There's some games in the Food Court and the Mall as well. Also the Office/School/Preschool have games you can play depending on your Tamagotchi's occupation (if it's a student at school for example, it can play the school games). Also, if you travel to different towns via the station, you can enter the Work building and play a game there. Oh yes, there's the hospital game too. If your Tamagotchi is on 2nd generation or higher you can go to your Tamagotchi's parent's house to get a free gift which might be Gotchi Points. If your Tamagotchi is on 3rd generation or higher you also have the option to go to your Tamagotchi's grandparent's house. So yeah, plenty of ways to earn Gotchi Points... There are places I've missed out, I can guarantee you that.
Q: What's the max Items/Gotchi Points I can receive in one visit?
A: The max is 9 900p and 10 items.
Q: How do you buy items?
A: Go the the Mall, or somewhere you can buy items. Click on the item you want to buy and you will be presented with a picture of the item and the cost. Click "Get Item" to add it to your Items list if you don't already have 10 items. When you log out and enter the item's password, you'll be asked to pay.
Q: What are souvenirs and what do they do?
A: Souvenirs are collectible items found all over Tamagotchi Town. Some are only achieveable by doing certain tasks, such as donating Gotchi Points to the Gotchi King or by travelling. There are 32 souvenirs in all. Right now I don't know what they do, except look pretty in your souvenirs list. As far as I know, not all the souvenirs have been released on Tamatown yet.
Q: How do I log out of Tamatown?
A: Click the "Logout" button to get a Logout password for your Tamagotchi. On your Tamagotchi, press the A or B buttons to enter the Logout Password Input screen. Click "OK" on Tamatown, then "YES". You will then be presented with a list of passwords for all of your items. Now, on your Tamagotchi, go to the fourth icon (Activities) and choose "Password". Now enter in each password individually.
Q: I'm having trouble logging out!
A: Did you exit the Login Password screen while on Tamatown? Remember, every time you choose "PC" on your Tamagotchi, a new password is generated. So, don't press any buttons just to be on the safe side!
Also, don't mistake 8s and Bs, or 0s and Ds when you input the password.
Q: I logged out and didn't get my Gotchi Points?!
A: You probably did, just you didn't notice. You get Gotchi Points when you enter in the Logout password. A lot of people don't notice this because nothing special happens when your Tamagotchi returns home, no happy noise, nothing. The only way to tell is to check your Gotchi Point total before and after entering Tamatown.
