Cool or Un-cool?

People say tamagotchi's are boring, childish , and the ever most popular word: UN-COOL

What do you think? Cool or Un-cool?

I personally think that they are NEITHER.

Not un-cool...

Its not COOL neither its UN-COOL.

People have their own opinions...

(Thats something you can say to anyone who tells you that tamagotchi's are ____________)

Many people think its un-cool because it is a "toy" or because of some other reason.

Many people think its cool because they actually HAVE ONE and love it.

So back to the queation..

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Neither. They're are just a virtual pet that some ppl love and others hate. I'm one of the ppl who love them so obviously I'd bthink they're cool but I'm not going use that to say they're cool. But yeh neither. I guess they are just for ppl with a child still inside. Not in a bad way!

I love them, personally and obviously. But to some people, they are boring and childish. When someone asks me what it is, I just simply say a virtual pet. Most of the time, the other person says, "Oh, cool! Let me see!" I almost never use the term "Tamagotchi".

 

When I carry around my angel or ocean, I am proud of it. I say that it is a vintage virtual pet from japan. I show the other person the wording in japanese.

 

So, bottom line, they are cool with my friends and most other people don't mind. Like Dr. Suess said, "...'cause those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind."

i think they are cool, i have 4 and some people like my friends don't like what i like. They say they are a waist of money but when i play on mine they are always asking to play jump or dance (they still think they have the same games as V1) but i always say someting like 'er, its weight is at it's minimum you can't play write now'

I think more people would be happy if they had one!

Before they re-released in 2004, I had my P2 running(miss that thing, it broke) I don't really get why people see them as being childish, unless they're talking about V4 and V4.5 then I'd agree. V4 and V4.5 are just terrible. Entama and Uratama were a lot better and less of annoying for me.

And why do you think V4 and V4.5 are more annoying and childish? Because of the look of the Tama?

In Holland nobody over 14 likes Tamagotchis anymore, it's not really a hype over here. I'm 21 and just bought a new Tama and I really love it (I want to buy my second one soon ) but I can understand why people think it's childish and stupid at my age.

I play with my Tama in public, and sometimes people look weird to me because of that but I don't care. Let everyone like what he or she likes! It's a harmless toy

No its not because of the look, the Entama and Uratama look the same as the V4 and V4.5. They made the V4 and V4.5 to be like the Entama and Uratama but really messed it up. I find the V4/V4.5 mail system really annoys me. Plus its hard to raise Skill points on it where as with the En/Ura tama its pretty easy. In other words, Bandai simplifed the V4 and V4.5.

Don't worry your not the only 21 year old to get strange looks for playing with a Tamagotchi in public. I get it all the time.

I do the same thing. All of my cousins think they're neat, and a few of them actually got Tamas because of mine! I've never had anyone say, "You play with those weird things?" or anything like that. Well, actually, one of my cousins said that...but she's the only person who's given me a negative response...

I don't really care if they're cool or un-cool. I enjoy Tamagotchis. I enjoy collecting them, caring for them, and talking about them. I like the process of caretaking, and I find the technology interesting (even though there are many more advanced things out there). Even though Tamas seem to be targeted towards girls (and young ones at that) more than guys (especially older guys), I'm going to keep playin' with em.

They're fun.. Dont overdo it, act normal and then they can be quite cool as a buddy

I pretty much agree with the one about the looks. The LOOKS must be the reason why

[SIZE=14pt]I, for one, think that Tamagotchis are the COOLEST HAND-HELD GAMES ever invented! That's just MY opinion, though, being a Tama fan. I guess some people may find them silly and babyish(I can't imagine HOW), but that's just them. That's what THEY think. But us fans know that Tamagotchis are great hobbies, past-times, and even friends-isn't that all that REALLY matters? Just think about it that way.[/SIZE]

I love them, though the more versions they make, the more childish they seem to become. My friends and siblings think I'm way too old to be playing with them, and they always make really mean, negative comments. Why can't people just be nice?!?!?!

Anyways, I'm going after I get home today to pick up another 4.5, because I really enjoy them. They have just enough to keep you loving them, but not too much to the point where it's crazy!!! I do agree, though, that they are an "americanized" version of the awesome En & UraTamas. But, whatever... : ) :furawatchi:

I don't really pay attention to the "cool" stuff. This is how I sum up my v4 in one word though: Irritating.

I personaly think there cool.

Not all my friends share the same opinion though, they always question how I can love a virtual pet, which does get annoying at times.

But I don't mind when people say there babyish or "un-cool" because thats their opinion and my opinion is all that matters to me.

It's Just Your Opinon Of How You Feel About That Particular Item / Object .

If You Really Like That Object / Item , You Will Not Mind About The Stares Of People When You Are Either In The Bus/ Train / Other Public Spaces.

To Me,Its Not A Matter Of Cool Or Not . Its A Matter Of Whether I Feel Comfortable With It Or Not .

If You Hang Out With Your Friends , And They Find It Childish Or Boring, Then Dont Show Or Play With Your Tamagotchi When You Are Out With Them . If You Do Not Want To Pause It And Want To Take It Around Whether You Go,Tell Your Friends : Everyone Has Their Own Dislikes And Likes. What I Like Might Not Be Want You Like. What You Like I Might Also Not Like . Please Respect My Decision Of What I Want To Play. If They Do Not Understand And Continued Teasing You That You Are Childish Or Whatever,Then They Are Not Your True Friends.
