Here are a few differences between the V4 and EnTama:
On the EnTama, a door-to-door salesman stops by a couple of times a day, offering one item for sale each time.
On the V4 there's a built-in shop.
On the EnTama, you can combine certain cooking ingredients together to make special foods.
On the V4 each character has a favourite food.
On the EnTama, you can get special items, that when used can increase certain GUTS (skill) points.
On the V4 you can collect souvenirs.

... and yes, Jason's ebay store is trustworthy.
He's been supplying tamagotchis to fans all over the world for quite a long time now (including many members of TamaTalk) and everyone I have ever spoken with has received their toys safely.
