LOL, no it's not! None of them are, but the last one in the series, The Amber Spyglass contains some antireligious things. The golden compass movie has absolutely NOTHING in it about killing God. It's a good action film. I'm seen it, but the books are much better.

I know. The movie the Golden Compass has nothing to do with killing god. That only happens in the last book. The movie the golden compass is about this girl who saved both worlds, the mortal and the immortal. It does sound like a good action film. I don't want to see the last movie when it comes in theatres though.

yes it does. i'm not trying to fight. the guy that made it says that it's a *says in dorky voice* watered down version of killing God. i'm still never gonna see it. you can take alllllllll my tamagotchis away from me, and i'll never see it.

I watched it some

It was very good. I quite enjoyed the storyline.

It doesn't have much to do with killing God as far as I can see, and if anything, the God of the story, which is not really the same thing. (That's what I noticed from watching the film anyway).

It is quite a good film, the effects are good, it is well made - I think it is worth seeing. ;)

Added on (recalling film)

I thought part of the main focus of the film was on the accompanying daemons - which aren't evil daemons at all, but companions. Such as a dog, or a person's conscience. A Jiminy Cricket.

Ok let's just clarify this so this doesn't turn into fight, flame war etc.

The Golden Compass is NOT anti religious. It is NOT about killing God. The God in the story is totally UNrelated to our

God. It is a totally fine movie. My friend watched and said it was the best movie ever. Of course, she was using a hyperbole but STILL!!!!

The evil lady slaps her daemon monkey =0

main point: the guy is trying to brainwash kids that there is no God. Which is sooo stupid. He created us

There isn't really any need to get stressed out.

Phillip Pullman is a good author, and I really want to see the movie, it looks cool.

Read what I bolded.

THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE GOLDEN COMPASS!!!!!

The Golden Compass (which I watched today zomgz that is now like, my fav movie) is about a child who can read a alethiometer that tells the truth. Now a lady is trying to take kids away from their daemons (how did she do that letter thing with the "a" and "e" in daemon???) with a simple cut. The kid manages to free all the kids who were in the building who haven't gotten their daemon's "cut" away. There is a war between the kids, the witches, the gyptians, an armoured bear, and this HUGE army.

There's some more to that story, buuuut I don't wanna type the whole thing because it's 11:00PM here and I'm tired so are my hands.

To be honest I didn't really like the film that much. I haven't read the books so I had no idea what was going on ^_^ . It didn't really explain what dust was and I'm really confused about the compass/lie detector/whatever it was.

im only going to say this...you may like it...you may not. You can believe what you want. but facts are facts. there is a book i got at a local church called something like behind the colden compas or whatever. it explains all about the author and why he made the movie and the books.

try and find the book, read it,and believe what you want to believe

I saw it and it has nothing to do about killing god. I didn't like it, though. I thought it was weird and boring and I'm not into that kinda of movies.

It does get kind of confusing about dust and the compass and Lord Asriel. :D

Apparently the movie is a watered down hook to get kids to buy the books.

So I've heard.
