What you mean to say is: "My tamas were normal adults, but when I came back, they were Petite family. How did this happen?" Or something. To answer this question, you didn't feed them enough. Feed them Milk or show them a Magnifying Glass and they'll return to normal-except for the parents, if you're on 2nd generation.
