The TamaTalk contest for March 2008 will be a writing contest.

This month's theme is: write a song about Tamagotchi.

Contest deadline for entries is: March 24, 2008*

The contest winner will be announced: April 1, 2008*

Rules: All entries must...
(1) be a song you wrote about Tamagotchi (either a Tamagotchi in general, or Tamagotchi characters such as Mametchi, Memetchi, Kuchipatchi...) Songs can be a spoof of an existing song such as the example at the bottom of this post, or completely original (in which case you might want to include a note such as to be sung to the music of "the SpongeBob SquarePants Show's theme song")
(2) be sent as plain text in the body of the email.
(3) be submitted by the deadline.*
[* Note: the time zone used for contests will be USA Central Time Zone.]

Multiple submissions: You can submit more than one entry. (But please remember, we're judging on quality not quantity.)

Who is eligible to enter: All TamaTalk members. (TamaTalk staff can also enter, and are eligible to win.)

Judges: TamaTalk staff will be voting on the entries as anonymous submissions. Only I will know which members made which submissions. We have used this process in the past, and believe it does not give any advantage to staff who enter the contest.

Prize: There will be a prize for first place only. The member submitting the winning entry will win a TamaTalk Angelgotchi membership. (Click here for more information about TamaTalk Angelgotchi.)

How to submit your entry: Send it as plain text in the body of an email to badgecontest@tamatalk.com with the subject line "March Contest Entry" Don't forget to include your TamaTalk username in the email.

As an example, here's a spoof of YMCA by The Village People

Young girl, there's no need to feel down.
I said, young boy, pick yourself off the ground.
I said, young girl, 'cause you're in a new town
There's no need to be unhappy.

Young girl, there's a place you can go.
I said, young boy, when you've got a little dough.
You can shop there, and I'm sure you will find
Many toys that you can buy.

It's fun to buy a new Ta-ma-go-tchi.
It's fun to raise a new Ta-ma-go-tchi.

They have everything for boys and girls to enjoy,
You can connect them to make friends...

It's fun to buy a new Ta-ma-go-tchi.
It's fun to raise a new Ta-ma-go-tchi.

You can get their mess cleaned, and give them a good meal,
You can do whatever you feel ...

(Well, that's enough from me. Now it's your turn.)
