Gigas are fun, but can be REALY hard work.
Think about it first.

I think the giga pets are easier than tamas. They don't require as much attention.
At least mine don't. And they never ever get sick. Their health is always excellent.

Tamagotchi's are MUCH easier to take care of. Plus, you can put them on pause mode.
With gigapets, you must care for them each day. It was no problem at first, but when I started school, I couldn't care for my gigapet.
It later got smushed (on accident) by my dad's car.

I would recommend getting a new tamagotchi or a classic/older/original giga pet.
New Tamagotchi are better then the "new" giga pets. But the Original giga pets are more easier to take care of and I think are better then the "new" version of giga pets. So its up to what you want... Better "mini/normal" games or just simplicity? How often you'd be able to play with it... ETC.

Gigapets are really nice and I enjoyed them while the batteries were running. The exploring interactivity is nice. They are hard work, but are pretty enjoyable. You should think about it.
