JD125-2? Hey! I just bought one of those from a small shop in Taipei. It was only $120 Taiwanese dollars, which is about $3.60 US dollars, so I figured I would check it out.

The package says "V8". The instruction sheet says "UraTama Connexion Version 3". The instruction sheet that came with mine is in English, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese, and only vaguely matches the toy. When you pull the tab, "JD v3" flashes up on the screen for a moment.

Despite the packaging and shell design, this toy is nothing like the Tamagotchi Connection V5. It most resembles a Tamagotchi Connection V1.

The useable screen area is narrow like the Tamagotchi Connection V1-V4.5, not wide like the Tamagotchi Connection V5.

There is only one egg. You can name it, but you're limited to 3 characters.

There is only one meal and one snack item each. When you feed it, you see someone who resembles the Bandai "Bill" character eat the food; you don't see your actual character consume it.

There is only one built-in game. If you win you're given a 4-digit code. The instruction sheet doesn't mention what this code means, or what you should do with it. However, I figured it out. When no icons are lit, press the C button. Then you can enter the code to get a present. (More about presents further down in this post.)

There is no TamaTown for this toy. When you activate the Connect (Heart) icon, it goes straight to the READY screen.

There are two discipline selections. One looks like a trophy, the other like a hammer.

Medicine seems to be normal.

You have to manually turn the lights on or off.

The book icon has two selections. The first selection is for friends, according to the instruction sheet. The second selection is for presents that you've collected. These seem to be similar in function to the Tamagotchi Connection V3 & V4/V4.5 souvenirs. You can't play with them; you can only collect them.

JD also makes one with a rip-off of the Australian-style Tamagotchi Connection V5 packaging and shell design. Click here to see it.

So fake! You dont get souvenirs and passwords from the toy itself.Such a rip-off

You know, you sounded a bit rude when you said that.Thats just my opinion and no tama has a 4 digit password. And I know. Some have no password and souviniers. And my cousin bought it and she said it was was hard to understand.

Wow. You can tell it's a fake if that happens! :(

That definitley looks like a fake to me. Darn, JD copying tamas! I can see if they make their own style v-pets... but copying... grrrrr....

It looks kinda believable to me. If I had no idea what a real Tamagotchi was, I bet I would have bought that! But yeah, darn you people you make fake Tamagotchis!

JD is so hilarious.

I bought one at Taiwan before, and it only costs 75 NT dollars, which is around 2 to 3 dollars in America. xD I ended up destroying it.

i almost believed it it looks like the royal v5 i would have bought it if i liked the v5 ( yeah i dont think the v5 is so much fun i like my v3 v4 v4.5 tamagotchi better but ill never give the v5 im respecting the name of the tamagotchi =]! NEVER GIVE IT AWAY!

I totally agree! It seems to me that most of the rip-off tamas here are made by JD... Maybe someone should tell Bandai?

Stuff I see wrong with this image:

1. No actual key ring

2. The key chain is actually coming out of the antenna.

3. It says "The latest V5 familitchi version 2" in the description and then says v8 on the package, which makes no sense whatsoever

4. It doesn't say Bandai or Tamagotchi anywhere on it

Yeah, if those four things are present, along with what binary listed, it's a definite fake.

Most likely they hacked and altered a JD v3 to create this... Thing (It's not a tama!).
