SAD poem (I decided to write my own)

Based on the other 'sad chain email poems' I wrote the poem shown below.

My name is Sophie

My name is Sophie

I just turned four

Daddy is knocking

at the back door.

I am very scared

'cause he is a drunk

I tried to hide

in my old trunk.

He gets mad

and opens the door

when he gets in the house

he stomps on the floor.

I start to cry

and run out of the box

But I notice the door

is chained up with locks.

Daddy walks up to me

looking very gruff

and then he yells

very mean stuff.

He says I'm to blame

that he can't get work

He says that I'm bad

and he says dirty words.

I try to say sorry

I try to to help out

but that didn't work

without a doubt.

He picks me up

by the back of my shirt.

And throws me at the wall

covered in dirt.

The wall is hard

and I fall to the ground

I'm sitting there motionless

not making a sound.

My name was Sophie

Can't you see?

Last night Daddy

murdered me.

Yeah, I saw the other version of that.
