An easy way to determine whether you have a regular V5 or a V5 Celebrity or V5.5 is to check which games are on it.

The built-in games on the regular V5 are:
TV Surfing
Tea Time
Golf Putt (available from second generation)
Shoe Pairs (available from second generation)

The built-in games on the V5 Celebrity & V5.5 are:
Tama Fans
Pool Play
Tennis
Safe Box
Cue Ball (available from second generation)
Jewels (available from second generation)

When you recieve a v5 celebrity tama, in the instructions lie a password at the bottom of the first page. This is the password I recieved- 19085 76987

When you earn 2000 or more points playing the games on the V5 Celebrity CD, you are given a password: "0401113189" However, it doesn't work on the V5 Celebrity, it works only on the V5 regular model.

Update: I've heard that Bandai USA is aware of this problem now, and they have released an alternative password. 31561 62370 I've verified this one works. It gives your V5 Celebrity a Magic Wand.

I used that password on my new Celebrity V.5 and it worked. I got a tulip.

Actually, I used it on my V5 Celebrity, but it just brings a gift and either some hearts come out or a balloon comes out and pops.
