my 1st post and it's in here...

I bought a Version 5.5 the other day and when I went online it was all "Ver 5" but no 5.5. So I got a little worried if I bought a fake one. I saw somewhere though that you can tell what kind of Ver 5 it is by the games and mine points to the Celebrity one. But I just want to be sure. I downloaded the instuctions from the official site and it matches the one it came with the toy. One other thing is that mine doesn't have a keychain link hanging but a heart key charm and I kept on entering the special codes but nothing happens when I confirm the last number. So if anyone could help me? Oh and there's "TAMAGOTCHI" on the shell all caps. It's like the logo except for the O.

No, It's probably a real one. The O in the tamagotchi is on every tama I have. There ARE V5.5's out there, just depending on what region you live in. My best bet is you have a real tama.

If it's a V5.5 it should tell you on the case.

Yea, thats real. It's a v5.5, and the reason the passwords aren't waorking is because your probably entering v5 codes.
