It seems like the latest Hollywood fad today is remaking old movies. Whether it's an 80s horror movie, a Japanese/Asian movie, some long forgotten low budget movie, or cherished family adventure/action film.

Most films remade seem to fit into the 80s horror film category. Does this mean 20 years from now the movies we see in the big screen will be remade? Thing is most teens from the 80s who watched these films are now adults who aren't big fans of having their favorite scary movies remade.

Why not remake films fifty or forty years from now so the teens of the 80s won't really care and the new generations can still enjoy it. Better yet why not just rerelease the movies in the theaters for todays generation?

Even if the remake film makes a lot of money, we still know the remake will never compare to the original film.

What do you think? Should Hollywood get creative and start making up their own ideas?
