A letter to my dearest fate.

My dearest fate,

Do I dare to write?

I dare, I dare.

Alas, my writing shall not be bright.

For, my dearest fate,

I've taken to crying in the night.

As, without you, my heart turns to dust,

And dust is no good, save for sweeping up.

And fate, my dear,

I'll never forget you.

Because forgetting is like a curse.

Once you forget, you can never remember.

And these memories of you, they keep my dusty heart safe.

Fate, dearest, dearest fate.

You've kept me safe these past few months,

And for that, I'm forever grateful.

Though, when my shields are down, who will protect me?

And so, my lovely fate.

My writing comes to an end,

And, I wish you all the best,

Though, if I think about it,

The best has already been and gone.

The best is dead now, fate, my love.

He died, long, long ago.

For when you took yourself off the face of the earth,

He took a pill, and died beside you.
