Tamagotchi v4?

The package and tamagotchi looks like it's original...But.......... the only thing missing is "Tamagotchi" on the Tamagotchi!

So is it or is it not?

Help me out please :D

Someone is selling it 40% off retail...and I want to make sure that I'm getting an original! ;) :furawatchi: :gozarutchi:

(I've never owned an original Tamagotchi before, only a fake dog Tama and Tama's cousins - digimons)

Back of the v4

The Year stated is 2004(reffering to TamaTalk News, v4 was released in 2007?)

Close up

LCD background doesn't match any of the versions shown in TamaTalk News?(seems to be a brown dotted cross shape with blue background)

It's also stated as manufactured by Bandai HK....But I've come across fake Digimons with Bandai HK on it...Instruction manual said it was a V4 (with English AND Chinese writings) but it was a actually a fake v5. Only way to tell the difference was the LCD flair, wrong background and especially the wrong characters.

That is real yes some tamagotchis dont say tamagotchi on the egg.

Hoped i helped!!

I think the tamagotchi is fake. As all tamagotchi version 4's the tamagotchi does not have the tamagotchi connection words on top of the screen. I think it is fake.

It's real! It's a Tamagotchi JinSei V4! Which was the V4 sold in Asia! By the way they don't necessarill need to have Tamagotchi on the top!

:furawatchi: Thank you all for the reassurance

I have located the source of the tamagotchis' while scouting out for other collectibles. It was imported by a famous toy company locally but they were clearing stock. And this seller bought them and is now reselling it at 60% the market price.

I even got some myself ^^ Now the proud owner of several Jinsei v4s, v3s and v1s

(wonder where the v2s went to...)

btw what is "Jinsei"?

Thank you once again. :ichigotchi:

Oh no, you have made a big mistake! Jinsei (JD) is known for selling fake Tamagotchis. Ask for a refund immediately.

JINSEI IS NOT FAKE!!!

It is the name for the european and asian v4s. I have one myself!

That is definately not fake.

Oh, and Jinsei means something like 'living' or 'life' in Japan I think!

Oh, also, JD is a different company that sells fake tamas. Those tamagotchis you have are completely real.

I have recently bought one of these on eBay, which arrived little over an hour ago. I too was a little concerned it might be a fake. The back of the shell looks almost exactly like the picture already posted, only the sticker was all in English. I was also concerned because all the pictures of V4s I have seen have a "Digimon" style keyring, whereas mine has the one that the original Tamas had.

The only difference was the packaging. This is a picture of my Tama taken from the eBay auction page.

Can anyone kill that last bit of doubt in my mind that I have a fake?

Edit: Futhermore, I think it might be a V4.5, because it has just grown into a Kuchitamatchi!

Well, fakes don't use Tamagotchi characters.

That's real.

That is real. I have that design.

It is a European V4.5. Over here its a JinSei Plus. There are only six shells, 3 of which have a star antennae, 3 of which don't.

So don't worry, it's not a fake. [by the way - It is the same design as a UraTama design but the green is darker on the JinSei plus.]

ahahas don't worry...those are not fake I bought the bottom right corner one (yellow tamagotchi) in a shop that is trustable and it works perfecty fine.

I think it's a real Bandai manufactured Tamagotchi product.
