ohio :)
have you ever taken your tamagotchi apart to mod it? or painted your outside, etc.

i have :) right now, i took apart my v4.5 to put a leopard background behind the lcd. i'm thinking about putting the circuit board into my v4 shell so i can paint that one.

Oh seems like a fun i idea to replace the background of my tamagotchi! Ill try that. But i wont try to paint the shell, its going to be too much messy :p

Lol dosent it get boring by time? I was thinking of putting my v3 tama into my v5 tama shell but i am afraid that the lcd screen wont fit or something like that!

I forgot the website's address, but there is a website that shows how to change buttons, backgrounds, etc. I won't change any of mine; I like them original except for the keychains which I remove and replace with lanyards and bead strings that I have made.

i have never taken my tama apart because i would probably break something, but i didnt know you could change the backgound.

just so you know. when you change the background, sometimes it's harder to see the pixels, since bandai sells them with reflective paper in them.

I was recently viewing the modded/custom Tamagotchis thread on Tama-Zone and while a lot of them are beautiful custom jobs, I would never do it to mine. Not only because I'd be too afraid to break it, but because I like the original shell designs. =]

I have never tried it, I think it would be hard to get the background out, but it would be really cool if I painted the outter-shell!

Its not hard! I replaced the one of my v4.5 and its really easy. But you must be VEEEEEERy carefull to not touch the lcd thingy. the background in behind the lcd thingy so just make it sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide :3

I think the site you are thinking of is this one?: https://necrobones.com/tamasurg/

But yes, I've been meaning to modify a tamagotchi for a while now! I was going to take it apart so that I could carefully paint the shell. I was also going to change the screen and buttons if I find good ones.

Since I have an old semi-broken one I was going to experiment on it. hahahaha.

I will post pictures once I'm done.. Wish me luck!

We had a topic a few years ago where a member showed us pics of the modifications they did on their tama: Steampunk tamagotchi! it was a fantastic example of tama modifying

Tama-Zone.com has a fantastic thread about Tama modding with lots of pictures on different things that ppl have done to change their tama's appearance - it's really interesting to read through :D

Tamenagerie.com also has a page with modified tamas.

Actually I did mod one of my Tamagotchis it's on the Tama Zone page. I've actually been meaning to do it again but I haven't had the chance.
