I can read Japanese, so that's not an issue, but is the TMGC+C really worth it? I mean, the TMGC+C is very nice and all, but I tire quite easily after playing tamagotchis for too long. And obviously the price tag is much heftier compared to previous versions, with the LCD screen, etc. After lurking around forums and doing some research, I'm already inclined to buy it but would like to hear your thoughts. The lack of characters and a pause feature was a bit of a downside for me, but I love the idea of an interactive house and town. (oh, and the colour of course)

Also, I'm thinking of buying it in Tokyo, but I'm unsure of where to look. I know there is a Tama Depa in Harajuku, but doubt I'll be going there (is it true that many of the items are overpriced?). Shinjuku has a lot of electronic stores, but I think the focus there is cameras, computers and such. Most likely I'll be looking around in a shopping centre, but do I go to the 'toy' section or the 'electronic' section?

Thanks for the help!

There's plenty of translations out there for those who don't read Japanese (me being one of them). And there is a pause method, using the time set mode is the pause, much like in the vintage P1, P2, Angel...ect.

The LCD screen and shiny new graphics were enough to convince me to buy it, but I'm a gadget freak.

I would buy it, especially since you can read the language. Maybe you could buy the new Hexagon one, since it revolves around a Japanese game show. It is also a color one. I don't know where in a Japanese store what department to find one, since I live in the USA. You could try eBay. There's always a lot of them for sale there. Good luck, and hope I helped.

The fun -- yes.

The price -- oh no.

Greedy e-Bayers. D8

Heck, I can't even afford something as cheap as a P2 23$ Tamagotchi! LET ALONE money for anything else I want...or actually need, like food. >_<

i was in tokyo a year ago and didn't see any tamagotchi anywhere, but if i were you i'd look in the toy section for it. good luck!

I am an active Tama-Zone member, and I do read alot of logs that include the TMGC+C. What i've noticed is that it's more detailed, but had less characters and games. :D

well, i would get it. im gona beg my mom so i can get it for christmas, but if she says no, then ill ask for money ;D. But ive done some research, this being one of them, and it seems to be worth it. i like the screen enhancement, and the tree parts seem interesting...
