I just watched the original Japanese video with subtitles(correctly translated, for once..), and I couldn't believe it. I hated how they just left you hanging like that, and *spoiler*killing the main character! D:

If you are. Well it was way obvious that the people who did would die.
I mean seriously. That was basically the plot of the story. To bring the other one down. xDD

I thought it made perfect sense to end the way it did.
The ending seemed to happen rather quickly but all roads ended in death for our main character.
How did you want it to end?

With the way Death Note was going after Episode 25...

Raito was pretty much losing sanity because he just killed his biggest obstacle, and was pleased with getting L out of the way. Then Near and Mello tried to stop him, eventually making him go mad with plans.

Plus, Ryuk found no need for Raito anymore. Remember one of the main rules? The Shinigami kills their human host after the Death Note is no longer needed. I'm pretty sure that's how it works.
