Prologue:

Natasha Glaring looked at the snow covered ground. Her sister, Bella, had been badly wanting a Tamagotchi this holiday season. She remembered the talk they had had the day before.

"What do you want this holiday season, Tasha?" Bella had asked.

"I don't know," Natasha had answered. "What do you want?"

Bella snorted. "Just about what everybody wants this season. And, Tasha, you know what I want. Ma and Pa already said NO. I want a Tamagotchi. It's a virtual toy. And I need one."

Natasha sighed. Yes, a Tamagotchi. Everyone girl in second, third and first grade had or wanted one. And Bella wanted one as badly as anyone could. Janet Santaclaire, Bella's best friend, always brought her Tamas when she came over to play, and Bella had become addicted to the small egg- shaped toy. Bella was now twirling her hair ribbon in her hand and staring at Natasha, who helplessly looked at Bella. Bella needed to get a tamagotchi this season, and Natasha was going to get her one then season, if it was the last thing she did.

"Ma and Pa don't have to be the ones to get you one."

"Who will then? Aunt Mara and Uncle Moony already didn't like the idea."

"Maybe Gram or Pop?"

"Nope."

"So you're out of luck?"

"Unless YOU get me one."

Natasha looked at her sister. And that was what started it. Now Natasha was walking home, on Christmas Eve, empty handed with no Tamagotchi to give to Bella. And it wasn't her fault. All the stores had been totally out.

Suddenly, Natasha saw something.

It was a tamagotchi on the ground!

Natasha picked it up, not knowing the trouble it was to cause.
