I recently contacted Bandai and they send me this about the Tamagotchi WTE

they said this:

While Bandai as a whole manufactures Tamagotchi toys worldwide, there are product differences between Japan, the U.S. and other countries. The product lineups are therefore tailored to each market and its audience.
Bandai America is still currently shipping the Music Star in the styles and colors as shown on www.bandai.com or www.tamagotchi.com. We will continue to sell these for 2009 and into 2010 and may add more products to the Tamagotchi line by late next year. There is also the "bundle pack" that includes a current Tamagotchi Music Star toy and a 90 minute "Tamagotchi the Movie" DVD

I don't understand.

Why late spring?

The note from BanDai only states that the Music Star will be sold into 2010. It doesn't state that they're planning a new product in late spring.

It does state that they "may add more products to the Tamagotchi line by late next year..

Doesn't that suggest it's unlikely to happen in Spring - and is more likely to happen (if at all) late in the year 2010? (in November or December, for example) :angry:

Actually, when I contacted them, they said that they will probably add a new tamagotchi in LATE 2010, but I hope that a new tama will be released sooner.

 
Maybe it's a clue that the World Tour Edition will be released in Australia or New Zealand first. Their spring occurs in the later part of the year.

Sorry if I sound like I am picking at this, but the link you posted was the birthday letter from BanDai.

The birthday letter said the DVD Movie will be available in Spring 2010.

It says nothing about a new tamagotchi in Spring 2010 :[

I suppose I just don't want TamaTalkers to get their hopes up without anything definite from BanDai - so many members get angry and disappointed when their expectations are not met :D

I got that exact reply too when I contacted BanDai about their products. Seems like they use pre-written responses to their customers.

I don't think that the World Tour edition will be sold in Spring this year because the email said that the current colors will be sold into 2010. That doesn't mean we shouldn't be vigilant though!

yeah i got that too.

It comes with one of the newer designs for the Music Star, a DVD, and 3 little tamagotchi plastic collectibles.

:angry: mm i got that same meessage but with a few different things added to it i sent em if they are have the id come out in english and they said bandai asia will answer that and they said they have the answer and thyysaid they wont bring it to australia or america so that mesage i got to but last year

they said it bcause thats when they will expect it to arrive but it could come late to tho

 
I think that it is time to close this topic. Tamagotchi music star world tour edition HAS been cancelled, but may be released some time next year, or possibly never. The tama-go will almost definately be released later this year, and it might help if we give bandai our support. I think for now it is more important to research this product, and make discussion about it here:

If this topic continues to stay open, a lot of people may get confused or excited about the fact that there may be a WTE, when actually it may not be the truth.
