Have I said just how cool Bandai is lately? Not only do they bring us some really cool virtual pets to enjoy but they are also wonderful to the fan community... And to fans like me. For example, Bandai made me one of group of people to receive a pre-release version of a Tama-Go... or... TMGO... or... TamaTown by Tamagotchi. Whatever you want to call it (I will stick to Tama-Go) it is pretty cool. So... Not trying to rub it in or anything but I have one and I would love to share it with you. Unfortunately the number of people here and the various places on this planet that everyone lives at make it impossible to just pass it around the room to check out. So instead, I have to do this virtually. I will do my best to give you an idea of what will be in stores before you know it.

First up? Some pictures of the packaging:

The front of the package with the flap closed
alt="Tama-Go TMGO packaging" />

The front of the package with the flap open
alt="Tama-Go TMGO packaging" />

The back of the package

I will post more pic and hopefully video as I get a chance...

Keep reading through the topic for more images and stuff!

Update: Posted the instruction manual in the reference section

Pretty neat! I just LOVE Mametchi!

I'll be receiving one soon as well! :) (Thanks to having such a wonderful tamagotchi website and "relationship" with BANDAI) I can't wait to share the joy in owning a pre-released Tama-Go. I'll be sure to post pictures like everyone else :D

I see they're going with the multi-language route for the box; I guess it's easier for them to do that instead of seperate boxes for each language, but then there is less room for the actual writing. That's fine, though.

And are you going to open that? Not that I was going to take it or anything. Heh-heh... *sprints off-screen*

Finally had time to process more of the photos I took as part of my attempt to document the TMGO...

This is our little egg fresh out of the packaging.
Tama-Go TMGO

This is a shot of the top and bottom of both (notice the little chip on the bottom of the Mametchi character piece
Tama-Go TMGO

This is the back with the battery compartment open (this is where I realized I didn't have an AAA batteries! DOH!)
Tama-Go TMGO

Here is the top of the egg with the lid off so that the character pieces can be connected. I like how the lid stays on the chain so that it doesn't end up under my couch. One thing I was worried about was the piece slipping off easily... That doesn't happen at all! It stays on there nice and snug.

Here is a shot of the front and side of the character mounted on top.

Heart-shape contacts on the expansion chip, that's nice detailing.

Batteries not included? Seriously?

This tamagotchi is simpler to care for than I thought.... of course, I could be wrong.

Hm. This seems really interesting. I wonder what the screen will look like when you buy furniture from the Shop...
