It says Bandai, but why doesn't this look right to me? Mothra/Godzilla is most likley a registered trademark, and unless it's still big in Japan, why bother making it? It also looks a lot LIKE a Tamagotchi, but says "Hyper Active Digital Pet". It's US $39.88, and it says "Rare" and "New". But I look at the feedback this guy has. He's a top seller with a rating of 99.7% satisfaction.

But why would Bandai use their tamagotchi design, then call it something totally unoriginal?

it is real it is a mothra tamagotchi they made this tamagotchi because in japane they made a movie about it and so bandi made it into a tamagotchi it is really rare because usually the mothras are very expensive and cost alot

There's no question. It's definitely real. For one thing, it has the Bandai logo on the packaging. Secondly, it's allowed to have the Bandai logo because it really is a Bandai Tamagotchi. It is one of the vintage Tamagotchis, so if you grew up familiar with the Connections (V1 and up), you might not be familiar with the Mothra. Anyway, what do you mean it's unoriginal? It's all a matter of perception, originality and unoriginality. Personally, I think it's pretty cool that a Tamagotchi was made based on a movie that WAS big in Japan, regardless of whether or not Godzilla/Mothra is still big. By the way, it actually says "Hyper-INTERACTIVE Digital Pet," and that's because well, you interact with it, like you do with any Tamagotchi. :) There's a lot of online literature out there on the Tamagotchi Mothra that's been around for quite some time. I would recommend reading up on it. The Ebay seller's score is quite good, for someone who's sold thousands of items.
