I successfully removed the figure from the top of the Tama-go without damaging the figure. It take a bit of work but it can be done.

Basically I bent the figure and cap exposing the plastic that connects the two together. Inside the cap is a half circle piece of plastic that is somewhat bendable. If you can get it out far enough you will see a gap take a thin object and you can pop it out.

I did this so I can have the extra games and fun stuff with me without have to carry around a bunch of little figures too.

Just a side note. There will be a hole on top of the cap. You might want to cover it with tape or stuff it with something to prevent water or other gunk from getting in there.
