So I’m currently running an Angelgotchi and I was trying desperately to get Takoten so I could get Pukuten. But I yet again got Kodoten (the “healthy” teenager). I purposely took bad care of it (keeping TP/AP low - usually on zero - and not filling hearts often, letting them run out etc). And I still got Kodoten. How does that happen?!

Has anyone got Takoten before? And if so, how? How badly do you look after it?

I was reading here: http://www.mimitchi....html/tangch.htm . It is very useful but maybe I’m just very bad at taking bad care.

Anyway, let me know if you guys have gotten Takoten before and if so, how. Thanks

Hello Jappyx.

I do not know if this counts as I have the Tamagotchi Angel app for my phone and not an actual Angelgotchi at this time.
In trying to do the reverse (get Kodoten) I ended up with Takoten... twice.

Since the app rarely shows or calls me for deeds (even when I had Pukuten open 24/7), I wonder if maybe ignoring the deeds is a big part of getting the "unhealthy" teen.
Even though I constantly filled the hearts and AP to full when it was Maruten, I still ended up with Takoten.

One thing to try would be that at night when it goes to sleep as Maruten... Try to have just one or two hearts and empty deed meter.
If this works let me know... whenever I receive my Angelgotchi I will experiment to see how similar to the app it really is.

If this does not work, I hope someone with an actual Angelgotchi can help you to get Tako/Puketen.

I've been running my American Angel again after a few years and I've been having the same problem--I always get the healthiest character, even when I'm actively trying not to. I guess you just need to take reeeaaally bad care? But then I feel bad... Haha! It's hard to take bad care of a tamagotchi... they're so cute and sweet, it's counter-intuitive.

I think that the app might be a little different from the actual Tamagotchi because I've done something similar (completely ignored the Deeds calls, unintentionally of course , but kept the hearts and AP/TP up) and still got Kodoten, which led me to believe that Deeds usually doesn't have anything to do with the characters you get, but AP/TP does. Since you're already keeping AP/TP low though, I'm wondering if it really does have something to do with Deeds, in your case. I'd keep it down all the way if you haven't already done that and as far as the hearts go, rex is probably right. Getting Takoten probably calls for some serious neglect, unfortunately. Maybe let it run completely out of hearts more often and ignore the calls once in a while? I also like phnx0313's idea of having some hearts empty overnight. It's really hard not to fail at failing when it comes to the Tamagotchi Angel/Angelgotchi!

Now that you mention it, I don't ever recall getting a Takoten on my English Tamagotchi Angel. I've managed to get a couple of the other adults (accidentally) in the past, but never a Takoten in the teenager phase. I guess generally that this is because I always set a Tamagotchi running at the weekend when I have lots of time to help it grow, whereas I have much less time on weekdays when it is likely to be hitting its adult phase.

In my experience though, Deeds have little to no effect on the adult character you'll get, and I believe that AP/TP only has marginally more effect. I say this because on my last Tamagotchi Angel run, I got all the perfect characters and finally the twin-angels, without catching a Deed call and constantly having my AP/TP on zero.

Probably one of the reasons I like the Angel less than, say, the P1 and P2. As it has been said before: it's kinda counter-intuitive to consciously neglect your Tamagotchi.

Good news, my teenager evolved into Ginjirotenshi which I am REALLY happy with. This is the first time I’ve ran an Angelgotchi and not got Kuriten and then Futagotenshi (twins). So I’m glad I didn’t repeat this as I was really trying to avoid getting Kuriten (as cute as he is ). I did some more neglect, left hearts empty for quite a while. I’m going to run this and see what it is like now that I don’t have Kuriten.

Oh, sidenote, when a teenager, I did nothing with the Deeds meter as well - missed all the calls for attention.

And another interesting sidenote, I wonder if walks have anything to do with it. I caught my Kodoten on a walk twice so maybe calling back from a walk might have something to do with it?

Any other thoughts?

Note:: Even though the TamaAngel app is based on American Tamagotchi Angel, when the Tama dies... there is a Devilutchi.

Both times I have gone from Maruten > Takoten > Pukuten. (Pukuten makes weird faces, however he is very cute when sleeping.)
Looks like I will have another Futagoten this time too.

I really wanted Ginjiroten. I never have him before... even with my old Angel.

I say try letting Maruten sleep with 1 or no heart at night to get a Takoten.
If anyone is willing to try... since you all have actual Tama. Please let me know as well?

I want to do a full experiment with only the Angel App... even if I do not have my Angelgotchi at that time.

EDIT: I just remembered I paused mine before I went away. Still playing with Ginjirotenshi. So cute, especially when playing the jumping over stars game. If possible, can we wait until mine dies? If you want to start soon though, I’m happy to re-start too if you want.

I've been using my Angelgotch, and I got Takoten by ignoring it almost completely from the baby stage. I only fed it once when it was Maruten, played the game once, left the TP at zero, and always left the lights on when it was asleep.
