This looks like a fake, is it? It doesn't say tamagotchi on it. It's pretty though =(

It's not a fake, but a FamiTama (a Japanese V5). Not all Tamagotchis say "Tamagotchi" at the top.

I'm playing with this kind right now. If you have played with a V5 then no problem. It's the same, takes the same codes and everything.

The Japanese is really no big deal. It's like playing with a TMGC+C (which is also in Japanese): once you have any experience at all with Tamagotchi game play, the language barrier becomes virtually non-existent because you kind of start to memorize where everything is and what all the menus and selections are anyway.
