When your Tamagotchi is crying, select "praise" and it will raise one training bar. If your Tamagotchi is mad at you and it has it's back to you select "Time-Out". Also, give your Tamagotchi a Time-Out if it calls for attention for no reason but first make sure that it is not hungry/unhappy.
