Good to be back here. Yesterday's shift was probably one of the roughest shifts I have ever had and so it was really good to come home this morning, un-pause my Tamagotchis, and rest after a 14-hour shift. Granted, I didn't watch them too much because I was just too tired so I just let them be and took pictures here and there.

I mentioned previously that I didn't have any pictures of Memetchi after she evolved but it turns out that I took some pictures on the 5th and just forgot about them.



The look on her face as she's eating the built-in food is so silly. She is not having any of that. I've got to track down my IR phone so that I can transfer over some new items and games (because the built-in games don't really give the quick return and I honestly haven't had enough time to play the games to get more Gotchi Points and therefore can't yet afford to buy other food ).



Nothing new going on with Memetchi today. She should earn her last Ta Mo To Mo stamp tomorrow and be able to go to the matchmaker. I will also work on her other stamps tomorrow.



Devilgotch

Deviltchi caused more trouble today when I a ) tried to access his stats, b ) tried to feed him, and c ) was playing the game. Got a whole spectrum of mischief today. That's what I get for letting his Devil Power creep up. It was all in good fun anyway. Later on, he asked for a handshake.



I'm hoping he'll evolve tomorrow.

I let Deviltchi's Devil Power climb up so high that he was being extra naughty today.





Unfortunately, I wasn't being so good myself - a good caretaker, that is. Looks like the iD is a little more hardy because Memetchi made it through another day comfortably while Deviltchi...not so much. Looks like I'm going to have to try again.

I will be pausing my Tamagotchis on the 12th because I'm back to work again. I will resume logging on the 13th by which time, I will try again with my Devilgotch.

In other related news, my big lot of things from Japan has shipped and I'm very excited to introduce those members of my Tamagotchi family very soon!

My big lot of Tamagotchi items from Japan is now in the country. I repeat, it is now in the country. I can't wait to show everything off! I've been making steady purchases (I can't help it! So many great deals out there) over the past couple of months and so I have much to share in the coming weeks. Hoping when things settle down a little more and purchases start winding down, I can take an updated collection picture. Meanwhile, Bakedebirutchi is just being his usual, sneaky self. This time, he didn't let me check the status meters.



I let bygones be bygones though over a game of catch the falling stars. How can you say no to a happy face like that?



I was busy and out of town the rest of the evening on the 18th and didn't bring my Tamagotchis with me so unfortunately, Bakedebirutchi left me. I had work on the 19th and 20th so I re-started my Devilgotch on the 21st. Third time's the charm, hopefully? I'll be back soon to log updates that occurred on the 21st, when I un-paused my Tamagotchis. Stay tuned!

I worked on the 19th and 20th but I knew I had a package from Japan waiting for me at the post office so I decided to pick it up early, rather than waiting for my day off on the 21st. Unwrapping everything was so satisfying! Gozarutchi received his Mo stamp after being an adult for 72 hours.



Then it was off to the matchmaker's, where he and Furawatchi were married.



They had a baby girl.



She evolved into the adorable Belutchi.

I hatched my Devilgotch again (third time's the charm, right? ) and Zukidebitchi appeared. Here's hoping for a longer run.



I worked on the 22nd so I'll be back soon with events that occurred on the 23rd and so on.

In real-time news, just wanted to show off one of my most recent purchases: the Link TMGC Station!



It's a "store" Deka Tamagotchi of sorts for the iD L. It wasn't meant for sale in stores so was I ever excited when I saw one crop up for sale. Can't wait to receive it and try it out!

My guy is still a Zukidebitchi. Hopefully he'll evolve into the next stage before I go back to work this Wednesday.



Left a little gift.

In real-time news, the Tamagotchi L.I.F.E Angel app has been released, one day earlier than expected! I'm so excited to be running an Angel again. Not sure how I'm going to manage on days I work (I'm not yet seeing a pause feature) but I'll do my best!

So the app - pretty true to the actual toy, right down to the animations and sound effects. Brings back nice, fond memories and feelings of nostalgia.

After installing the app, I opened it up and the opening screen appeared for a brief moment, before revealing Obaketchi 2. Only on the app, they call him "Ghost Jr." Pretty cute.



The icons are all the same. You've got the status meter, where it shows the age and Angel Power on the first screen, the Deeds meter (which has already been filled a quarter of the way - so three lines) on the second screen, the Hungry meter on the third screen, and the Effort (AKA, Happiness) meter on the final screen.

This brings us to the next icon: food. You'll have a choice between pie and candy. As always, pie will fill up the Hungry meter. Candy, just as it is on the actual toy itself, will not fill up the Effort meter, but will allow you the opportunity to gain Angel Power by scaring the bat away (by tapping anywhere in the screen area of the Angel app) when it comes and tries to steal the candy. As it is on the actual toy, the highest Angel Power level you can reach in the Ghost Jr. stage is 30. I'm glad little details like that carried over to the app.



The next icon is the game icon and it's the same game that's on the actual toy: jumping over the shooting stars. Getting at least 4/5 successful jumps will fill up one Effort heart and having a perfect game will fill up two Effort hearts, just like on the toy! Did I mention how much I love little details like this?





Speaking of the game, this brings me to the App mode of the Angel app. Everything between the Toy mode and App mode is pretty much the same, except for the new game in the App mode - it's called Speed Counting. You have 60 seconds to tap the numbers 1-20 (which move around, spin, etc.) in order. If you make no mistakes, you fill up two Effort hearts. If you make one mistake, you fill up one Effort heart. If you make more than two mistakes, the game ends. Depending on how fast you go, you get a certain amount of points, which unlocks bonus items the more points you accumulate. Looks like the max amount of points you can get per game is 100 (at least from what I've seen so far). Pretty neat mini-game!



The more points earned and the more days you spend logged on to the app, more wallpapers and shells will be unlocked.

The fourth icon is the Toilet icon. Haven't had to use this one yet. Typically (at least on the actual toy), the Angel doesn't poo until you miss a praise or stroll opportunity (that's how you know you've missed the chance - there's a lovely little poo on the ground ). I imagine with the nifty notification feature of the app, hopefully I won't miss too many opportunities.

The next icon looks like a bell - it's the Praise icon. As always, this is used to praise the Angel (when the attention icon is lit but the Hunger and/or Effort meters aren't completely empty) or to call the Angel back when it goes on a stroll. I can't wait to see these animations on the app!

The icon that looks like a bow and arrow is the medicine icon.

Then you've got the icon that turns the lights on and off.

Lastly, the attention icon lights up when Angel needs something.

Just wanted to do a quick run-down of the app, so thanks for bearing with me as I did that. If anything, it served as a nice little refresher course for me to get re-acquainted with the Tamagotchi Angel. Again, I'm really looking forward to seeing what this app can do. Hopefully it won't be too buggy or anything like that. Though I enjoyed running the original Tamagotchi L.I.F.E. app, I didn't keep it going for too long. It became a little too glitchy for my liking and I have to admit that I'm a bit spoiled with all the other Tamagotchis that came after the originals, what with new features, games, characters, etc. and so I got a little bored (though vintage Tamagotchis will always have a special place in my heart). It was a pleasant surprise to see that the Angel app was released. Makes me hopeful for what's yet to come. Who knows? Maybe a Morino or Ocean one in the future? We'll just have to see!

Shelutchi evolved into the second-best care character in the lineage - Chamametchi. I pretty much expected this since I know I let at least one care miss slide during the teen stage.

The little guy still remains as Zukidebitchi. If things go like they did last time, he should evolve on the 25th.



Angel App

Back with another real-time update covering the Tamagotchi L.I.F.E Angel app (see my introductory post for this new app). I'm really enjoying this experience so far. Of course, apps don't beat the real thing but it's nice to have both the real thing, as well as something to carry along with me everywhere I go (a luxury I don't always have with the real thing).

Ghost Jr. evolved into Maruten (this character is called "Marutchi Angel" on the app) after an hour of care.



I worked on getting Maruten's Angel Power up by feeding her candy - watch out for that pesky bat (the Deeds meter decreases if the bat succeeds)! I love the fact that scaring the bat away on the app is similar to how it's done on the actual toy - you have to tap the screen part of the shell on the app (not just the screen of your device...wow, this all sounds kind of meta ) and the character actually shakes when you tap it, as well as your device (my phone vibrates). Pretty neat! The max Angel Power level for this character is 50.





I switched over to app mode to play the game (unlocked new wallpaper!) and to see how Maruten looks. Another cool feature - different characters in app mode appear in different colors randomly.

Nothing new going on with Chamametchi today. I'm going to try for her Ta Ma To Mo stamps next day I run my Tamagotchis.

As I had hoped, the little guy evolved today - into Bakedebirutchi again! He was extra mischievous when starting out because Devil Power automatically skyrockets after this evolution.





Bakedebirutchi's bedtime is at 11 pm. So late!

Angel App

Maruten, on the other hand, was being a perfect little angel. No praise or stroll calls for me today and so there were no poos to clean up either. She went to bed at 8 pm on the dot.



I'm working the next couple of days so I'll be back on February 28 for quick updates.

As mentioned before, I worked on the nights of the 26th and 27th so I put my Tamagotchis on pause and since I couldn't pause my Tamagotchi Angel app, I ran it as best as I could, checking on it here and there. The results were surprising, actually.

February 26-27, 2014

Angel App

Another shell unlocked for being "logged in" for another day, so I tried it on for size. On the 26th before I went to work, Maruten (I'm going to go with the original names of the characters, just because I'm so used to them) evolved into Kodoten, the healthiest character in the teen stage.



I thought this was surprising because up until then, the Deeds meter hadn't even increased. No praise calls, no strolls, no poos, no anything! I was under the impression that in order to get the healthy teen, the meter had to have been full. Then when the character evolves into a teen, the meter decreases to half so that you can work toward getting it full again. At least, this is what happens on the toy anyway. I snapped pictures when I could (love it that the app makes it so easy to save gorgeous pictures).





Kodoten went to sleep at 8 pm.



Kodoten evolved into Kuriten on the 27th. Yet another shell was unlocked so I changed the shell once again. I'm loving the different shell options.



Again, this evolution was surprising to me because of the level of care I gave my Angel. I didn't take horrible care of Kodoten but I wouldn't say it was to the level of expectation for Kuriten. I definitely let the meters get down low several times and once again, there were no calls for praise, no strolls, or anything. Not even any poos to let me know that I even missed any praise calls. Very weird. I really hope that it's just me maybe missing the calls and that it's not some programming glitch of the app because I'd have to admit that I'd be pretty disappointed if these features aren't included in the app. Praise and strolls are features unique to the Angel and are what makes it fun.

I'm also surprised at how quickly the Angel app evolves. It took 3 days for Angel to evolve into an adult. That's like Color level of evolution right there, not typically what you see in vintages. I suppose it's okay though. You get to see the fruits of your labor quicker.

I didn't take pictures of my iD on this day, admittedly. I had just come off of work and slept for most of the day so I got a little lazy. Chamametchi is just going to have to get her Ta Ma To Mo stamps a different day.

Angel App

More shells and wallpapers unlocked as I logged in another day. Despite my shortcomings as a caretaker on days I work, Kuriten remained, alive and well, on the 1st.



I'm so bummed that the Deeds meter didn't seem to change at all. I may have slacked at times but I don't think I could have missed that many praise/stroll calls. Are there even any on this app? Also, Angel Power doesn't go up past 50. Something tells me I'm not the only one experiencing this either. It's a shame. I guess I'll just have to see if anything is different if I end up doing a second run.



Speaking of second runs, Kuriten left me on March 2.





I restarted the app, just to give it another go, on March 3. Next time I log, it'll be regarding events on March 3. For real this time! See you soon!

Chamametchi celebrating Hinamatsuri (Doll's Festival).



She earned her Mo letter early in the morning before I could work on any of her other letters.

I've been wondering about that card-looking item that the doughnut guy always presents. This time around, the 3 spaces on the card filled with 3 circles (sometimes it fills with an X and that usually results in the Tamagotchi character looking upset) and my gal got a free doughnut out of it. Thoughts?

I took Chamametchi to the matchmaker and she married Kuromametchi.

Still no changes with Bakedebirutchi today! I've just been trying to keep his Devil Power down because it climbs a little quicker these days. I'm really hoping he'll evolve into an adult soon. It seems the batteries are running low because the sound on my Devil is getting wonkier and quieter. Yikes!

Angel App

So I gave the app another go. Had the usual opening scene with the US version space ship before Obaketchi 2 appeared (tried out new wallpaper!).



Again, not too high maintenance. No calls for praise, poo, or anything! Just got sick once.



I'm trying a more radically different approach this time around to see if I can get a different character.

Hoshitchi evolved into Chuuchutchi.

Bakedebirutchi is still around. He's probably going to be stubborn and not evolve for a few more days. I haven't run the Devil too often to remember how long it takes for a character to evolve into an adult but hopefully it happens soon. Guess it doesn't help that I've got him on pause sometimes for days at a time while I'm at work. We'll just have to see! Apologies for not having any new pictures.

Angel App

Maruten evolved into the unhealthier teen character, Takoten, which I expected since I kept Angel Power down. Yet another pretty shell became unlocked.





As it is on the toy, Takoten's highest Angel Power is 60. The number doesn't seem to fluctuate depending on the character on the app as it does on the toy though.



Turns out you actually can score more than 100 points playing the game in app mode.

I had my iD paused on the 5th and 6th because I had work. Chuuchutchi evolved into Uwasatchi on the 7th.



Nothing new going on with my iD on the 8th. I was busy that day - my family and friends threw me a bridal shower.

Devilgotch

I also had my Devilgotch paused on the 5th and 6th. Bakedebirutchi still had not evolved into an adult on the 7th. You would not believe (or maybe you will) what happened on the day of my bridal shower. I was pressing the buttons as usual (sound getting more warped and quiet, as mentioned before) when all of a sudden, the screen went frozen. After all that work, the batteries had run out! I know I said third time is the charm but looks like I'll be trying yet again.



Angel App

Managed to snap a picture of the newest evolution on the 5th: Oyajitenshi!



Not a big surprise, since I kept Angel Power down and did a whole lot of neglecting.

On the 6th, I turned on the app to the following sight: Debirutchi!



Not sure if I actually obtained this character or if this was the animation for a bad end (maybe both happened) because all that happened was that I turned on the screen, saw Debirutchi poop once, and then the reset option appeared. Very interesting. Maybe I'll test out whether or not this character is actually obtainable (and sticks around afterward...maybe I just neglected him so much that he left just after obtaining the character) next time.

In other news, I recently received my blue Yuki Penguin.
