My shadows lurk
In them I find no refuge
The part of me that is not becoming them
Has long since passed
My secrets deny rest
From them I cannot hide
They die to present themselves to the world
But I try to keep them covered
My other side wallows
The side I wish to become is passing
It's had time to live
Yet it dies in progress
My public side is falling
It's cracks are finally showing
People are seeing what I've yet become
No matter how well I try and hide it
My facade is slipping
To it I can no longer look
And now everyone can see
