Help! v3 seems to be broken!

OK, I'm new to Tama Talk, but I've had tamagotchis since around four years ago so

Anyway, the other day I was going through my stuff and I found my two tamagotchis, a v3 and a v4. I unscrewed them and found out what kind of battery they took, and my mom drove me to the store and I bought some new batteries for them. I pressed the reset button and selected "reset" from both of them. The v4 worked perfectly, but the v3...

Well, I'm very confused. It turns on for 10-11 seconds (I counted) and then two black, horizontal lines appear on the screen and eventually fade away. At first I thought it was a faulty battery, so I took out the battery from my v4 and put it in my v3 just to check, but the same thing happened again. I've been trying to keep it on for a while now, but it keeps dying. I honestly don't know what to do!

So, I'd just like to know what's wrong with it, even if I can't fix it. If it's dead forever, please tell me. (I'll only cry a little, because it was a gift from my grandmother who died a few months later) But if it can be resurrected, I'd love to know how! It doesn't sound like a battery issue to me.

I believe it's a problem with the actual system.

You may be able to debug it and reset the whole system, but you have to be sure you know exactly what you're doing because you can end up breaking it even further.

But besides that I am sorry to say that there is not much you can do :|
