Mother 3: Unused Claus Battle?

I found (a creepier version of) this in the game's programming, along with (retarded) battle music, and more (creepy) Claus backgrounds. Can anyone explain?

My thoughts: I know the 8 Bit Claus background is Masked Man's unused 2nd Battle, but the others? I dunno. The Claus Music is supposedly when fastfowarded:

1. Claus saying "Ryuka (Lucas), please help..."

2. DCMC.

I know so much about this Claus thing, haha.

Isn't it Lucas' Nightmare or something?

I would think it's a battle between Lucas and a nightmare, like in EarthBound with Ness' Nightmare.

I don't know, just a theory.

Fanart, but I thought the Claus backgrounds were supposed to be the Masked Man's (Itoi was interviewed):

1st: Artwork of possesed Claus

2nd: 8-Bit Possesed Claus

Final: Clausgyas (Supposedly a reference to Gyiyg)

Some Lucas' nightmare backgrounds look that of Gyiyg in Mother 1.

...However, Gyiyg was killed in Mother 2, so that may not be true.

But Ness' Nightmare and Lucas' Nightmare look different.
