TamaChat: Should it be closed down?

A trusted person would be appointed Moderator, who can kick people out and ban them for an amount of time. If that person leaves chat they will appoint a new Moderator from the people inside the chat. I do think that there will be some loopholes to this though like: people pretending to be good just to become Mod, how do we choose a new moderator when no else is in the room and how do we acknowledge who is right for the job. Or we could just have shifts of becoming moderator in chat, but I do see some problems with that as well.
It's just an idea that I thought I'd put out there. Thanks for your consideration!

ok whats the heck?!?!

Nah. Its not that bad. Trying to keep the users at bay in tama-chat. Apparently some users are making it an unfriendly environment. This is to help sift through the users who are making it uneasy/uncomfortable. If you break rules or are found to make problems... Mods can remove priveledges instead of letting it continue. There have been many complaints so, this is only a week trail run for now. To see if it will help the issue or not.
Also, it keeps the mods up to date on who is in chat ,using it.
It could have been removed, that was the original question....

Hopefully mostly everything will be solved with the new approval system for Chat and people will be a lot nicer to others now. xP
Thanks Admin! ^-^

I get a feeling this thing isn't working very well, to me I feel like it's just making people stay away from chat. Today and yesterday night, I have seen absolutely nobody on chat. None. Or maybe 1 or two people, but these people just happen to be inactive and don't talk at all. Even this afternoon, chat emptied and was ultra quiet. Only in the morning did I actually get to talk to people...
It is true that activity dropped off the last couple of nights but also remember that in the USA (where most of ours members are based) school is just starting back up for many people. This type of trend is pretty normal. Activity drops off at certain times of the day/week but it settles back to normal before long. Now I am not saying that is the reason for this... But it is my first suspect. I don't know that the approvals would have had much of another effect since we have already approved 50 or so members plus the wait time to be approved has been pretty low. I will, however, keep an eye on things and would appreciate observations from you all as well.
i used to go on chat a lot but now i don't really care about ita nd i hardly go on, but this new system make me ask a question; what if someone got disapproved from chat and they made a new account and they got approved for chat?
This is something we figure might happen. What happens with approvals though is we get a chance to catch people who are banned and try to re-enter immediately. The hope is it makes the situation better because it gives us a chance whereas before a person could re-enter chat within minutes and keep doing so. This is all an experiment so we will see how things go.
