Bandai haven't said anything about a new tamagotchi yet. I'll try to contact them.

Actually I don't think there is any set to come out for the English speaking countries, but there is a 15th Anniversary IDL I believe that is coming out in November in Japan. Other than that - I haven't heard of any other plans for new tamas.

I would love to see a tamagotchi game for the Nintendo 3DS. I would like it to be like the old tamagotchi game for the original gameboy. It was neat because time would move fast and your goal would be to take care of the characters as best as you can. You can have up to three tamagotchis at one time. They can add interesting games and the color and 3D features would be amazing! I would definitely buy that game!

Considering there is a cash payout and also inventor royalties later down the line - I believe they are looking for individuals ideas. If it were just a contest, then it probably wouldn't be an issue, but since there is money involved they probably wouldn't choose a large collective of people.
