Heya guys,

Since I decided that I am going to invest in the purchase of an ID L, my mind has been plagued with questions that I need answered!

-I've heard the White and Yellow Tama ID L's are of horrid quality, is that correct?

-What batteries does it take/come with?

-How often do you have to change the batteries?

-Am I right in noticing/seeing the screen turns completely off after a certain period of time to save battery?

-Am I right in assuming that it is backlit, like a cellphone, for usage in the dark and better play time during the day?

-Is it really that difficult to translate and get the hang of it?

-If you don't get the happy stickers, does your Tama leave you? Or does it stay mildly content with just the regular happy bar?

-If I enjoy it as much as I am hoping, I will be running the ID L while in school next year and throughout working full time between now and then; Is it difficult to care for such a seemingly high maintenance pet like the ID L, while actually having a life?

The iD L does come with batteries, AAA batteries are what they take.

It depends on how high you have the back light and if you tend to pause your Tamagotchi for a long time. I noticed that mine lasted for about a month. I always have spare batteries around just in case and thr iD L will warn you when you need to change them.

The screen turns off after around 30 seconds of inactivity.

Yes the tamagotchi iD L is back lit so you can play in the dark on dark-ish places. Although it is hard to see when out in bright sunlight. Bright light (Inside light) does not seem to affect it too much.

It is not that difficult do get the hang of. You can find guides here on this site that will show you what is what and where eg: https://www.tamatalk.com/IB/topic/174644-tamagotchi-id-l-menu-stats-screen/ If you get the hang of it you don't even notice that you are looking at Japanese! Well at least that is what I have noticed lol.

If you don't get the happy sitckers your Tamagotchi will stay around it just wont stay happy for long and you will need to play with it more often and feed it snacks more often. Happy stickers are worth getting as they unlock things. Again there is guides on this site that can help you with that. And even guides on youtube!

The iD L is not too high maintenance although it can be if you are doing things like making dinner, wating to go out and not wanting to take the iD L with you and doing homework. I guess it is not as bad as it seems but try it out and see for yourself. I study so am not at home all day and since I am training to be a chef, I cannot be looking after tamagotchi while in the kitchen. When I get home I need to look after my son as well as cook dinner and all those other things but I still manage time to look after an iD L.

Hope this helps you ^_^

1: AAA (x2)

2: I hear about 2/3 months... it depends on a few things like volume or how often you play with it.

3: Yup. Turns off about 30 seconds after of inactivity. But right back on with any botton.

4: Excatly, you can turn it off too if you want to conserve some battery power... but its much cooler with the backlight.

5: Nope, You learn where stuff takes you with trial and error... Once you remember which is which... not hard to navigate. Although, not much I can't help with the actual text from characters.... but you can guess what they are saying with symbols at the end of the sentences... atleast it seems that way to me.

6: Happy Stamps... Those just help your tama be less "bored"? There is stuff online and I think I have a list I found online too... Each tama has 3 things (food/clothes/items) and then the 48 hours after being adult it gains its last one. But the happy stamps, getting them all for each character records them in the list (you'll see)

7: I wouldn't call it high maitenince after its grown pass a baby stage. Every once in a while, you should probably play with it...

And I know you will probably be worried of the size... Its not bad. Smaller then the tama-Go, but it still fits in your hand. It has a much nicer feel to me then the tama-go.

Another thing to mention... Write down when your tama changes. It will help you. Keep track of your tama care misses. (Amount of times it gets sick, tooth ache, etc....) I believe there is a growth chart hiding here somewhere... I found one....

The White ID L is not horrible quality. That would mean all of them are. I have a white one and its def. not horrid quality -_-

the build quality its good on almost all of them, its just been noticed that on the white ones quite a few of them had there faceplates pop off, though this wasn't much of a problem. most just glued it back on with some nail glue, or so ive herd.

and i cant tell you about the yellow one, sorry

I kinda figured, but I remember seeing posts on here, as well as videos on youtube on how the White one seemed so "crap" compared to others. And someone else elaborated that the white and yellow, being very "unpopular colours" were specifically made poorly.

Hey guys

Another quick question

I've been reading all these logs and watching all these videos and I'm a little confused as to whether or not you can even turn the lights off when your Tamagotchi has fallen asleep. Can you turn the lights off??

Nope, Lights don't go off. Screen goes off instead.... Just don't forget to give it a bath at night, it doesn't automatically do it like we are used to.

I own a white one, I wouldn't call it crap at all.

I think the person who said all that was realllly taking some other frustrations out on their iD L. Yes, if my screen came off and such I'd be pretty upset, just because of the money, but my first instinct wouldn't be to upload a video on youtube and rant and rave for WEEKS about it. I'd get the nail glue at the dollarstore and huff that sucker back on...

I ordered the yellow iD L, and try as I might, I cannot find logs or videos where someone has a yellow one - I may have struck out with getting a good deal on an uncommon one! :)

Okay, so really, the screen going off is kind of the "lights" going off eh? I can understand that. That's actually cute, because then the battery still isn't being "used" to form the pixels and the Z. I like that :)

I am so excited, I have been shaking since I got that email this morning.
