I need to pick out a book for my English class that either has to have a Horror, Mystery, or Detective genre. I'm not much of a Detective type of person, so Horror or Mystery is fine, although I REALLY want to try and read a Horror.... Or maybe a Mystery... I dunno. :T

So any recommended Horror or Mystery books for an 8th grader that won't make me bored out a my mind?

i know you don't live in canada, so you might not get some of the things from haunted canada and the unexplained but these are good and i've read them all:

*haunted canada
*the unexplained
*the little giant book of "true" ghost stories (it's over 300 pages)
*you can't scare me!
*danger! (doesn't have too many things but is a great visual eye-candy, has LOTS of pictures)
*encyclopedia horrifica (REALLY good, LOTS of pictures)

trying to think of more
