So as you ALL know, Christmas is coming up and everyone is written g there Christmas lists, well I haven't wrote mine yet but I've asked my Mom/Mum if she could buy me a vintage tamagotchi and she agreed, but I plan on having two but I'm unsure what ones I should purchase. Please tell me out of the 6 that I am going to ask you to decided on, why I should choose that one and what do you think makes this one special.

Here are the ones that are avalible;

The Santagotch

The Tamaotch

The P1 Original

The P2 1st edition (Japanese)

The Tamagotchi+colo/u/r

The Tamagotchi Oceangotchi (Japanese obviously)

Those are the ones that you can choose from, please choose at lease two if you can! :p

Many thanks

JB

Well, the +Color isn't really a vintage, but I'll try to help you out anyway. Really, this all depends on what features you are looking for, and what your acceptable price range is.

The Santagotch is the most expensive tamagotchi on your list, retailing for about $150-250. It has unique santa-themed characters, and the goal is to raise your pet to become the best 'Santa' he can be.

The Tamaotch retails for $40-75, and is based on a famous Japanese actress. The goal is to train your character's acting abilities with a unique training feature and to raise him/her to be the best actor possible.

The original P1 (I'm assuming that you mean the english version)sells for $80-150, and is the forerunner of tamagotchi with only basic functionality, no themes or special features.

The Japanese P2 can be found for $40+ and is very similar to the P1, only with different characters and a different game, 'Flags'.

The Tamagotchi +Color is the most modern tamagotchi on your list, retailing for $60-90 and is the first generation of color-screen tamagotchi, with a rich, care-oriented environment.

Finally, the OCeangotchi can be found for $40-70, and has an aquatic theme. This is generally considered to be the neediest and most challanging Tamagotchi to care for.

With that in mind, I feel that the decision is really yours to make, but would personally reccommend the + Color and the Tamaotch.

Thanks for the info but I remeber when they came out so I know all about them :p thanks anyway though, I have a ID-L do I don't see the whole point in getting a Colour. I think that I will bid on the Tamaotch and the Oceangotchi, I have found the Santagotch for $70 so I might buy that one :p

Thanks for all of you help though :D

Don't buy a vintage, unless you're a collector and want something to show off XD.

I only have one vintage, an Angelgotchi, and let me say, no offence but it was the worst Tamagotchi of my collection. And my collection currently contains twenty Tamagotchis of nine different varieties. I have viewed other vintages and they also look boring, dull and lacking in features. True, I AM looking for a good Original, but I don't want to spend more than $45 on it because I wouldn't actually enjoy it; it would just be for my collection.

I would save your money and buy a Connection. They're cheaper and more fun. But it really depends what sort of Tamagotchi fan you are. A fan of any vintages is likely to enjoy all vintages, just as a fan of color Tamas is likely to enjoy all color Tamas and a fan of Connections is likely to enjoy all Connections. I'd try one vintage, if you don't have one already, and see how it goes. If you like it, buy other vintages! If you don't, try other Tamagotchi "genres" like Connections, or if you can afford it, color Tamas.

It is really common for people to like the first Tamagotchi they ever had. For instance, most of the older members (15+) here prefer vintages because that's what they grew up with. The few people born in 2000 or so mostly like Connections or, if they got into Tamagotchis aged 8 or over, color Tamas or Tama-Go-ish ones. What was your first Tamagotchi? I would stick with that one, the ones that came just before it and the ones that came just after it. My first two Tamagotchis were V4s, when I was aged 5 years old in 2006, then I got a V3 and took a break. When I got back into Tamas aged eight, I enjoyed my V4s and V3, but then I ventured too far off track and got a V6. I didn't like the V6 at all, nor anything after it. I don't like my Angelgotchi. Currently, I am running a V5, which is the most modern Tama that I actually enjoy, and have a V2 on the way. I am sticking round my first Tamagotchi, and I recommend that to you as well.

Thanks but I've got several vintage ones. I prefur the vintage ones than the connections. Hence why i said choose the vintage ones and not connections. None of the characters are cute and they just don't do anything. The games are boring and the characters are not as cute as The ones from Osutchi and Mesutchi.

As you have not got a tamagotchi that is vintage, I would suggest that you buy one. You can get them for $19 on eBay!

I DO have a vintage Tamagotchi, one, I have an Angelgotchi. No offence, but this is about the third time I told you XD.

I really dislike my Angelgotchi. It is my least favourite of all my collection, because I find it boring and very limiting. But that's just me.

No actually it's the second! You have also told me that you don't like the vintage ones, no need to repeat yourself :p

I am bidding on a connection in the end, I prefur the vintage ones but I think that the connections are getting better. Thanks for you suggestion :)

I would get an Oceangotch, they look so adorable. :)

They look hard to take care of, but look at the characters! So cute. :)

I know it's not up there, but I would also get a Devilgotchi. Also adeorable, plus the whole idea is just so cute.

Good luck! :)

Sadly, I did not win either, EBay messed up my bids so they didn't go through however this morning I bought a new V3 and a V5 as I've never had a V5.

Well I did but the sound was broke when I bought it and they woulldnt replace it becaused I had opened the package!
