Hello, Poe here and I was just wondering what everyone's favorite or worst memory of their tamagotchi are. Mine was one day in the middle of winter I was walking to meet a friend, the whole time I was there I haven't heard a peep from it. It wasn't until I returned home that I realized it was no longer in my pocket, after I checked everywhere I could I realized that it had become lost in the foot of snow outside. Two or more years later I was walking with that same friend in spring time when I noticed something sticking out of the dirt. I somehow recognized it and when I pulled it out I found that it was my old tamagotchi, home at last. Though I am sad to say it is in no longer working condition, I still keep it as a memoir.

It was a Purple V1 tamagotchi:

God I miss it :(

I KNOW right, I'm not the best person to say this, I DO get angry and frustrated when other people get something wrong in a way I can't explain, I AM a bit sharp-tongued and abrasive but please don't take offence.

Nobody has memories of Tamagotchi here, everybody still owns their Tamagotchi and still plays with it. Tamagotchis aren't gone. Sure, we have memories, because most of us are twelve and got one when we were five, but we don't look back on them because they are in our lives now. So there's no flash back on them! It's like saying "what was your favourite memory of McDonalds? A little flash back on our favourite little cafe" because McDonalds still exists and still is popular. Here you will find that most members still play with Tamagotchi, and you'll even find collectors. Tamagotchis may be gone everywhere else, but TamaTalk is the one place where they live on!

That's amazing that you found your Tamagotchi again years later! It was just meant to be; that you were supposed to find each other again. :D

I've got a lot of fond memories of Tamagotchi. I got my first one when I was in middle school and I'm doing a post-graduate degree now and I'm still playing with them, so plenty of stories to tell. The most vivid one that comes to mind now involves a family trip. When I first got my Tamagotchi, I carried it with me everywhere. One summer, my family and I took a vacation to a location where they have these huge redwood trees that we can enjoy. I remember just sitting on top of this huge tree trunk of a tree that had fallen down and I was playing with my Tamagotchi. I think I even have a picture of that moment somewhere. I was just sitting there, with my Tamagotchi's key chain hooked to one of the belt loops of my pants (back when Tamagotchi was small enough to carry around and not be noticeable...*cough cough Tama Go cough* :p ) and grinning like crazy. Ahh, good times. :)

I know that, I still play with mine. I am just saying a memory you had with one of them like you are at Uncle Jimmy Bob's Funeral and it beeps loudly so that everyone in the church looks at you. You know just as a reflection on your past with tamagotchis. I have hundreds of memories because I played with them my whole life. I am just wondering what everyone's favorite one is, all most everyone has a story to tell, it can even be one of when you first got it.

I know, its just a shame it doesn't work anymore, it was one of the first toys my Dad bought for me whenever I first got to meet him so it meant a lot to me which is why I still have it and never threw it away.

Wow that sounds like it was a lot of fun :)I went there too, beautiful area. (One problem with my tama-gos -.- Mine almost fell in a river once because it fell out of my hand and rolled to it, caught it just in time!]

Mine doesn't have to do with one of my tamagotchis, it was a friend's. She didn't take good care of it so she got the Princess Leia looking one. And one day she was was playing with it like she normally does, when she was done she saw that it had a heart down for hunger, so she went and fed it a bagel. Now let me just say that before it ate it was fine, not sick or anything, it just bounced around the screen content as a cucumber. Then as soon as it took the last bite of bagel it fell over dead. Both of us just stared at it and shock, and burst out laughing, sure it was very sad that it died but the way it died was just so unexpected it was funny. So as a joke I made an animated short called 'Death Bagel' where it had her tamagotchi eating a bagel and falling over dead, ending in 'Shame justina shame'. We summed up the unexpected death as her being such a bad tama parent that it decided not to hang around anymore.

Does anyone else have a funny moment they would like to share? Please share :)

@Dazzilitchigirl - You obviously don't get the concept of memories, you can have memories of ANYTHING. My favorite memories are of my brother and I hanging out, and he is "still in my life" and is also "Someone who I saw recently", they are still memories/flashbacks. And just because your saying you're abrasive, doesn't excuse you from being IMMENSELY rude, as a majority of your posts seem to be. Tamatalk appreciates everyone's opinion, but there is a right way and a wrong way to voice it. Be a little more thoughtful next time you post. -endrant-

ANYWAY back to the topic at hand. I remember when I was 7 years old in 1997, and my Daddy bought me my very first P1. I loved it so so well, it would come with me when I brushed my teeth, it would sit at the table with me while I ate, my mum used to seal it in a Tupperware container while I was in the bath, and when I slept it was on the pillow next to me. That half are my favorite memories. My worst was probably waking up really late one Saturday because I stayed up to watch the Friday night movies with my dad (still 7, still the same tama) and when I woke up and peered over at my little Tam, there was the little wiggly ghost and a gravestone, and i was frozen for about 5 seconds, then just started bawling. I remember running to my parents asking them to fix it, and then they got upset because I was so so devastated. It was the first time one had died on me. I got to have pizza for dinner though so I guess it isn't all bad :p

The only funny thing about my Tamas is I have this one V3 that I've been naming all the generations after people I work with, so whenever I got a "Tamagotchi Break" (equivalent to a smoke break at work) I'd be like "Well great, Tom crapped on the floor." or something to that effect. People who knew what was going on would laugh, everyone else (the majority) would be confused.

I even riled up the assistant manager when I named a Tama after him that happened to be Tom's baby (Tom is another manager). Good times, good times.

Aww, that's cute :)

Oh, I have a memory. My first tama ever... Loved it and still works. The feeling of getting one of my own when they came out. People gave me money to buy anything $10 or less. It had to be my Tama. I choose my Black with Grey rims. I still wonder why I choose black to this day. But I will always remember the feeling of pulling the tab fresh out of the box in my mall (and not knowing how to turn the sound off, Muuhahahaha) I love that sucker.

Worst memory... Well, feeling anyway...

The day I got my Gameboy Tamagotchi game. I put it into my Gameboy Color and decided to play with it on my walk. I had the volume up on it. It was about to change... I didn't know. I heard the sound and nearly crapped myself thinking... "Did I already kill it?!" I kept staring at it and then it evolved. I saw it and was thinking, "thank goodness! It didn't die...!" I think that was probably one of the few moments a tama actually scared me in that way.

Best memory, having my little v2 and v4 following me everywhere during a family vacation when I was in third grade, we went on the disney cruise and everywhere we went at least one of my tamagotchis followed. later on that trip when we were in disney world, playing with it inbetween rides, ect. and last year,in eighth grade, lugging the same V4 around disney land and whispering to it, (disney land and disney world's magic kingdom are basically the same) remember? remember that ride? they just feel so much more special when they go through a lot with you. I am planning on bringing my music star, my new IDL and of course my beloved V4 on the next trip my family is planning, Harry Potter world for X-Mas, WHOO!

<Harry Potter freak.

Well, I'll start with a bad memory.

I was in 4th grade and had my Tama and my friend's in class. Mine was a V4 and hers a 4.5, but hers didn't have the antennae and mine did, so during class I had them in my lap and the antenna from mine was, like, where the one on hers WOULD'VE been, if that makes sense. The teacher thought I was connecting them, which, to this day, I unerstand because it did LOOK like I was connecting 'em. I had time to put hers on pause before she took them away and looked right in my face and said "Last time." because I had gotten it taken away a few times before. ;) But she was a great teacher, so it's ok.

Better memories!

Making the bean bag chair for my 4.5. That was fun, I had time to "bond" with my Tama ;)

Talking with my mom about what fabrics to choose for the little bag she made for my iD L. :)

Just talking with my mom about my log, because she likes to "laugh" at it, hehe ;)

My favourite memory was when the V1s came out. I had been obsessed with my Tamagotchis in the 90s (I only had a P1 and a P2), and was sad about the fact that they seemed to have disappeared from shops for years (and I hadn't heard of internet shopping).

When the first advert for the V1s came on TV I literally jumped up and down with glee! Buying one was so much fun too! It was great to finally have a shiny new Tama among my old, battered ones. I think I was 15 at the time :p

My most beloved memory of Tamagotchi was at Sinterklaas (dutch holiday) when my family wasn't fighting for once but shared love and gifts!

It was then I got my Tamagotchi, which turned to be a symbol of love and peace in the family, due to that special holiday day. I carried it anywhere I was going, like it was one of my best friends, cause it was my only best friend, I was lonely at 9 years of age, due to me being "different" since I have ADHD.

It's a kind of sad memory, but on the other side it's one of the most beautiful ones cause it was a point in life everything went better, and now here I am with another one of those Tamagotchi feeling all warm and fuzzy, like it happened yesterday. I treat these little critters like real beings, cause beings made of data are still beings.

My first tamagotchi grew into a Pochitchi. I remember being really attached to it - until I dropped it in a puddle at the local hardware store carpark and it got run over. ;_;

One of the better memories is probably when I started the tamagotchi craze at my primary school. Everyone was fascinated by the two mysterious plastic eggs with the animals inside! It ended up being a huge craze. I had a V1 and a P2 that my friend gave me. I neglected that P2 so badly and always got Kusatchi ( :kusatchi: ) which I actually really miss now! I have no idea where they both went, probably sold at a carboot :(

I can't really remember anything from a long time ago, but a few weeks ago I was half-scared to death. It was getting pretty chilly so I decided to put my sweatshirt on. It had that pocket in the front with no zipper, and that's when I made the worst mistake. I decided to put it in the pocket for just a few minutes, but I totally forgot about it. About a half-hour later, a remembered it and put my hand in the pocket to check on it, and I felt nothing. I had realized it had fallen out of my pocket, and was terrified. Luckily, I started to search for it, and about ten minutes later, I found it laying on a leaf in the grass in the backyard. It seemed like a miracle it was still working and was still alive and healthy.

I have many memories.

Worst memory: My TMGC+C being a month delayed, when I was eight or nine. I remember standing at the window every day, trucks coming up outside, but when I excitedly ripped open the package it was never my TMGC+C. Then when I finally got it, fighting with my brother over getting to open it. I won with a good reason: It was MY Tamagotchi.

Favourite memory: It's such a close one! It's actually my friend getting her first Tama. I had been working so hard and so long to get someone else into Tamas, I was just overwhelmed by this person who I had barely even made friends with joining TamaTalk and opening her Tama birthday present from me early. I thought it would be hard, what with my previous experiences, but I was lost for words by how easy it is if you don't even try.

I won't be surprised if my favourite memory changed very soon, I have a lot of good little memories - and two really big bad ones. Actually, the TMGC+C one isn't my worst, my worst is so bad I don't even want to talk about it. But I don't cry about Tamas. I never have. Even when my first Tama died, as an unpleasant sixth birthday surprise, I didn't get upset.
