Original or Re-Designed Characters?

Hello everyone reading!

As we have all noticed by now, some characters within the Tamagotchi Series have been refurbished and modernised. I posted this thread simply curious to know whether or not you all prefer the newer versions of the characters or the older versions.

For instance, a re-designed character is Mametchi. From looking like this ( ), he was later updated to this ( ).

I like the new Mametchi better than the old one, simply because it's better in proportions, and looks just a lot better.

I wouldn't know which characters have been refurbished, but some of them do look better than the old ones. But the older ones have the nostalgic feeling to them, so it really doesn't matter to me though...

Mametchi is the only one that I know of being re-done, and I like his new sprite better. It's the only one I've ever known, for instance, so it actually says "TamagotchI" to me. The old one looks like an alien, to me. Of course, I never grew up with him, so if I had then my opinion would probably be different.

Well, kutchipatchi has slightly changed too! His butt got bigger in the Famitama!

I loved the original Mametchi - he was my favorite tama character of all. I really don't like the way he looks now.

Personally, out of the two designs, the one which was a figure of my childhood was the original Mametchi, therefore I vote for him.

He just seems much more calmer and simple, unlike the extremely brainiac-version that is the newer design. c:

I'm not sure if this counts exactly, but Violetchi went from Furawatchi to Violetchi, and a darker purple to a lighter purple. (Wow...I cant believe I actually noticed that xD) I personally like the updated characters, probably because I'm more used to them. Thats my opinion

^ Either before or after she was Flowertchi, who was sort of a light purple/pink.

I also like the old Mametchi sprite better.

Really? I always thought It had been Violetchi who was the darker tone of purple...

Are you sure? Flowertchi looks quite different to Violetchi! Just look at the sprite!

Unless you're talking about another nickname for Violetchi?

Not to mention, she had also once been Leaftchi!



All of this talk about just one purple-coloured virtual character has left me so, so confused!

I think Violetchiluvur3 means the anime Flowertchi, not the v1 debug Flowertchi.

Ah! That's right. She was Leaftchi, not flowertchi.

Wait, I thought she was flowertchi once? Lol.

But yes, Leaftchi was green. I also thought that Violetchi was.... well, Violet. And I think Furawatchi was the light pink/purple.

I did see some original Mametchi in V2, I never achieved it, yet my sister did! =O (And it married my Mimitchi) Then I got my V3 and saw the new Mametchi (I didn't know any character names back then) I personally like the new Mametchi because I think he looks cuter than the original. Another one I know was re-done was Mimitchi. In V2, when playing Bump whenever I came across a Mimitchi, I noticed a rat tail. When playing Bump on V3, Mimitchi had a rabbit tail.

As my first Tama was a V4 I never knew there was an old Mametchi and a new one. Until I raised a Mame on my V1 I thought they looked the same. I like the newer Mame because I sorta grew up with him. I don't like the new Kuchipatchi. He looks so much better in V4 and downwards than he does when he is all fat.

The older Mametchi is like a stranger to me because the p1 came out before I was born.
