well, i suppose most of us have grown up with a special pet or animal that we loved. and for most of us, these animals may have moved on into a different life. feel free to share your stories, and have us all feel a bit of your love for them as well. as well, if you remember a story of maybe a little bird or animal you helped nursed back to health, feel free to share it.

here's mine. when i was maybe 5 or 6 i got a dwarf hamster. i named him silver for his lovely gray, soft coat. he was a very calm and nice hamster, and i loved playing with him. he lived in a small little cage behind the dining room table. every day i would get up and play with him, feed him, and put him in his rolling ball. it was so funny to look at, this little teensy silver hamster racing around the house in a little plastic ball! sometimes i would even take him up to my room in his rolling ball and show him around my room. he prob'ly didn't really mind.

then one day i came down [this was probably 1 or 2 years later] to play with silver and my dad was crouching by the cage. i asked what he was doing and he said that silver wasn't moving. that sentence was probably the worst thing i had ever heard. he asked me if i wanted to hold him.

one more time.

i didn't want to, i was grasping on to my shirt so tight, and tears were streaming down my face. i remember running to the living room and collapsing onto the couch. i didn't even want to look at my little silver, that little hamster who brought me so much fun.

i look back on this and i realize he was a hamster. usually most people don't really think hamsters are very good 'friends', or anything. but gosh, silver was amazing, and i'm so happy i had him. RIP silver. <3

as of now i have two guinea pigs named muffin and jane. they are adorable and so nice, as well as a bit skittish. but i love them and they're so funny. the only thing i'm worried about is that i got them in grade 3, when i was 8. they were probably 2 or 3 by then. now i'm in grade 7, and they're about 7 or 8, which is the desired age of a guinea pig. i really hated when my family joked about eating them when they die, so i hope they live just a year longer.

Well, if you consider this as "my pet", My dad had a dog that was named Jackie and my dad loved him so much. But one day, he was dead and there were a few explainations. 1. My grandpa rolled over him, 2. A goat ran in the house and bit him and 3. Old age.

We had 10 chickens. Today, when my mum and I got home, we saw the carcasses of our bantim and 2 of the babies on the lawn. There was also another missing baby and one of the big ones was missing too. There were still 2 big ones and 2 babies alive in the enclosure. After further investigation, my mum saw dog footprints in the enclosure. A dog had killed our chickens. My mum called the animal control guy about it. The good news is, whoever owns the dog has to replace the chickens. Also, later, another baby came back. We have 5 survivors. Although, the other big one, who's missing, we saw her feathers in the paddock next door, so we think the dog grabbed her and took her there. So it's still pretty sad. We went from 10 chickens to 5, because of some stupid dog (no offence dog lovers here).

EDIT: We had 10, not 11. I forgot the 11th one died sometime last year from disease. But the other big one came back, and another baby

I had a bunny rabbit who acted more like a dog. She was called coco and she used to lick me. She'd always dig under our fence and we'd have to catch her. She was so cute.

She died because something in the dirt behind our house poisoned her. She was about 3 or 4 years old. I cried.

Also another sad story. I can't have pets at my house ; _ ;. I think thats really sad ; _ ;

Warining: semi-Gross and sad

2 years ago, I had a rabbit named Thumper. I had her for 5 years, and she was adorable and loving. One day, I went into the kitchen to get a cup of water and outside the glass door, I saw my dog, Star with something in her mouth. I walked closer to see a rabbit head with no eyes in her mouth, and a blob of...something on the ground and a bunch of fur in the corner. I freaked and threw a pot full of water(Not boiling, it was the one she drank out of) at Star and then we gave Star to some other family who wanted her. I was depressed for a week and stayed home from school those days, and to top it off, my fish, Strawberry died that day...and so did my snail. Yeah, that was a pretty rotten day.

well

last night one of my guinea pigs died

jane died

i don't know why but when i checked on her last night she was on her side, twitching and trying to run away

i guess she suddenly got sick

but she's in a better place now.

A few years ago I had 3 cats: Cuddles, Tabby and Tiffany.

Tiffany ran away and died because she didn't want to be treated for fleas.

Tabby died of throat cancer

But we still have Cuddles :D

a long while ago, a mother tabby gave birth to kittens on my doorstep

i didn't know what was going on so i opened the door and she ran away with the kittens still there

my mom and i took them in

then we put them back out there to see if the mother cat would come back to take them

she took all but one

we left it out there a while more but we were certain she wasn't coming back

i named it creampuff cause it was like a ball of puff and cream colored

it died a week after that, it never opened it's eyes

I had three caterpillars, Pinky, Hugo, and I forgot the name of the other one. I looked after them and raised them into moths! =D I set them free... But my bro fed one of them to his spider. ;( I think it was Pinky... R.I.P Pinky. :'<

I found a baby bird out of its nest and took it in and fed it. It died the next day. Never again will I take in a baby animal. It really upset me and of course I blamed myself when really must have been something wrong with it.

My last ferret Wall.e passed away at the age of two. He had a hairball blockage and was going to have it removed but when they put him under he had an allergic reaction that killed him instantly. He was a really great ferret with a wonderful temperment. He loved nothing better then to snuggle in peoples arms and loved attention.

My cat, Moses, died recently. Here's his picture:

Moses.jpg

He was my favorite pet we ever had.

His death was strange. I was outside and I spotted Moses in the grass. As usual, I went over and started petting him. I noticed a small cut on his neck. From that moment, I knew something serious was wrong. I have a sixth sense for these kinds of thing.

After that, he started to get nicer. I'm not sure if it was just a loss of energy or what, but he let me pet him more. He would get up on my lap and meow at me until I petted him. It was the sweetest thing ever, but I still couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.

About a week later, his eyesight began to get worse. I'm pretty sure he was blind when he died. He also would just stay under the kitchen table. He wouldn't walk anywhere. He wouldn't go outside.

In a few days it was very bad. He didn't even wash himself. He just layed under the table. By then, me and every one in my family knew this couldn't mean anything well for Moses.

The night before he died, my mom asked me if I'd like to let him sleep in my room. I quickly said yes. I set up a little cat nook in the corner of my room and made sure my dog couldn't get in and bother him.

I was laying in my bed, trying to sleep, when I suddenly heard a yowl from Moses. I was so scared... I got up and turned on my light. He couldn't reach his water. I went over and held his water close enough for him to drink. He lapped it up and went back to sleep. This happened three other times before morning.

The next day, January 18th, I wasn't able to do school very well. I did my school by my cat, and kept near him at all times. That night, around 11:00 PM, we heard yowls coming from under the kitchen table...

Me and my brother were all in the room. Moses kept coughing. The coughs were getting less and less frequent.

Around 12:00 AM, January 19th, 2012, my parents told me that I could stay up for 30 more minutes with him. They left, and so did my brother. This was when I went and grabbed my Evanescence CD. I sang Like You to him as he died. The last thing he did... Was extend his paw out to me.

As you can guess, we buried him. All of my family pretty much moved on right afterwards. I did not.

I still find myself going to his grave and singing Like You. I don't cry over the memory of him anymore, but I still get a bit sad when I think about him.

Dad refuses to get another cat until we move again. So I'm just waiting until then. ouo

Well we got some more chickens since then, including some babies. One of the babies drowned in the pond a few weeks ago, then one of the older ones died. She had been in the sleeping box, and she hadn't come out for a while so we knew something was up. Then she just... died.

I was 7 when I got my very first pet lizard. She was a Bearded Dragon and I named her Zukie. The reason I bought her was because when the pet store guy handed her to my dad she peed on him (lol).

So anyway it was 5 years ago when i was 8 I had a friend come round and let her play with Zukie while i was in the kitchen preparing her food. When my friend had finished playing with Zukie she put her on the sofa. My dad then sat down not knowing Zukie was there and squashed her.

The way my dad broke the news to me was by saying "Well, i would consider this revenge after she peed on me on numerous occasions. I sat on Zukie by mistake. but don't worry i'll buy you a new one." I burst out in tears.

We had a funeral service for her in the back garden and her grave is still there. I got another lizard after that but because it was male i called him Mcfly because i love back to the future and the band. Then i got another lizard and called her Zukie II.

Last year I had a cat called Sakura. But she suddenly went missing. That's why I have Pelle now. :) I still miss her a lot.

And one day I heard this mieowing outside and found out that a kitten was stuck under our house. We called the firemen and stuff like that, but that didn't help. :( So that kitten was stuck, so I don't know what happened to it. :(

I had a rabbit named Pearl since I was like 4. Fall, winter, and spring we kept her in a cage in a basement (sounds very cruel, but don't worry- it was the type of basement we hung out in a lot, like a living room or something) and in summer we put her in one of those rabbit hut things on our porch. Well my dad made her this wooden house thing to put in her hut. My sister and I usually feed her and stuff, but we were sick so she got kinda neglected- well, she got fed and stuff but people just didn't pay attention to her much 'cause mostly me and my sister were the ones who did stuff with her. So the hut was tall enough for there to be like a foot or something under the top of the railing of our porch and the lid was open for some reason for nearly all that week but Pearl must of gotten on the roof of her house, and jumped from that to the railing and run away. :'( My mom and dad came in and told me and my sister and we were crying so hard and we felt so bad because we had thought we had neglected her even though we were really sick in bed. Very sad. But it has a bit of a nice ending! Look-

so one evening maybe a month or so afterwards, me and my mom were taking a walk around dusk (when bunnies come out!) and we saw a few rabbits together, and I saw a small gray one that looked like Pearl... <3 I couldn't be sure but it made me felt a tiny bit better.

Also, we had a little dog named Rufus for about five or four months. It was a type of hypoallergenic cuz my dad is allergic but my dad still was bothered by the fur and stuff. So we had to donate him to a friend. :'(

Now we just have a stupid underwater frog that's fat and does nothing named Skippy. It's a girl, but we thought it was a boy for years. :/

(when is that frog even going to die? we've had it for like 6 years omg!)
