It's a pretty accepted belief that when you die, that's it, right?

Not in some cases. Depending on your state of mind and how you died, you may choose to linger on as - in the simplest possible sense - a ghost, whether this be because you feel it wasn't your time to die and there's more stuff you want to do or simply because you feel like causing chaos for the people that ended you and other people to boot.

Someone's gotta keep this under control, right?

Enter the Psychics, which are (as you'd expect) a group of people with psychic abilities working either alone or together. Their self-given job is to basically keep the 'ghost population', if you like, under control by helping the ghosts move on and leave the human world...

With whatever tactics they need to use depending on the ghost at hand.

Hey, they're self employed, they can do what they like.




Okay, so a little bit of background information is needed:

• The ghosts can hold a solid form for short bursts, the length of which depending on how long they're been in the human world as a ghost for.
  
• The psychics have the same set of powers as each other plus one unique power. The set of powers that they all share are the ability to, duh, see the ghosts (whether they want to or not...), see people's auras (handier than it sounds, as ghosts in human form don't have auras, making them easy to spot among humans) and they have the ability to channel the ghost to help them 'move on', if you like.

So yeah, basic TT rules and RP rules, no Mary Sues/Gary Stus, literacy, etc, etc. If you're playing a psychic, don't go too overboard with the unique power, e.g. invincibility. That's a big no-no. Also, I need to accept your forms before you start.

WHEW. That took a while to type. Thanks to Alex for letting me ramble about ghosts in TC.

My fail form:

Name: Jamie Linden

Age: 18

Gender: Female

Looks: Jamie isn't one for dressing up. Her long blonde hair is almost always tied up in a high ponytail and it's usually fed through a baseball cap. She has brown eyes, but generally hides them with sunglasses. It doesn't affect her ability to see auras, though. Jamie's of average height for her ages, but underneath average weight due to all the exercise stuff she does. Clothing wise, well, it's as plain as can be. Plain t-shirts, dark jeans, definitly no skirts. Nothing fancy, she doesn't believe it's practical, and she doesn't exactly like being fancy either. She's always in trainers, and generally has a hooded top on. Plain, of course.

Personality: Jamie is a true believer in solid facts. Okay, so the 'ghosts are real' thing is an exception, especially when her powers first came to light, but she's gradually learnt to believe that. It seems like Jamie has trust issues, as she generally won't believe anything anyone says first time, but you'll find that she trusts you after she's checked what you say is true. If it is. She's a friendly enough person, who's very good at what she does. Jamie is very much of a perfectionist, and this is possibly where her obsession with facts comes from - she'll refuse to do or even start anything until she feels all the facts about what she has to do are checked out, and then she'll follow their guidelines to the letter to 'ensure she does as good a job as possible'.

Unique power: Psychometry, that is, she can take an object and know everything about its owner. It's kinda irritating as she can't turn it off, prompting her to wear gloves most of the time.

Other: She acts as a kind of leader to the psychics that have banded together as a group.

Name: January Lawliet (Yeah, I went there.)

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Looks: January was a beautiful 'albino' girl. Meaning she had little to no pigment (color) in her skin, hair, or eyes. Her hair was pure white and fell in giant waves down to her lower back. Her skin was very pale and her eyes were a bright pink. She was short standing at 5'4 and quite small, weighing in at 80 pounds. Also, because of her hatred for the color pink, she often wore color contacts that made her eyes more of a green color. She was very scrawny and thin. She usually would wear dark colored shirts and skinnies, along with a pair of Converse.

Good/evil ghost?: Good. She wants to stay because she believes that her life was unfair.

Personality:January was not the type of person to trust just anyone, and she benefitted from that. She hated being around a lot of people, for it made her very uncomfortable. Also, Janu tended to stay away from most people so she wouldn't bother them. She is now kindhearted and gentle for the most part, despite the rage and sadness that comes with the memory of her death. She was a strong willed girl with a very short temper, you won't want to be someone who questions her opinion or actions, unless you're not a fan of living.

Other: How she died is a mystery to everyone.

Ghosts

Name: Lynn (Last name unknown)

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Looks: Lynn has brown hair with gold highlights. (she was born that way) She died when she was wearing her long white sleep-gown, barefoot. She wasn't an extremely skinny girl, she was at about the average girl. She was about 5"2, a bit short for her age. She had that 'Asian' look to her, although her mother was only half Asian, and her mother didn't even look Asian.

Good/evil ghost?: She's a good ghost, only wanting to come back because there were things in her life she needed to finish. One of them was to find love and develop a strong bond. Without finishing those things, she thought her life would be 'incomplete'.

Personality: Lynn is an over-achiever. She won't consider a job finished until it's done better than others. If you trapped her in a dirty room, she'd clean it until it literally sparkled. However, she's a big scaredy cat.

Other: Lynn died from fright, as while she was sleeping, she had a dream where ghosts were trying to strangle her. She had pinched herself multiple times, finding that she 'couldn't wake up'. Finally, the ghosts had killed her and she found she STILL wasn't awake, and she was seeing black and that was that.
