On the newer Tamas they turn into smiley faces, not hearts. Hearts are only on the older Connections.

You have to connect them a lot a lot A LOT, and then they will get married after a while. Yes, when they kiss that is the date scene and it means they'll get married within a few connections.

Don't worry about the whole V5 thing unless you have one, because you kind of need to either play with one or watch a video to get what they're saying.
