Plush trees singing,
weeping yellowed leaves.
Autumn colds spinning,
twisting midnight eves.

These spaces we’re between
Because the lines were never seen,
Trap us within delusion
And so our worlds become unclean

What tune we followed
Since our lives were hollow
Sung us to disaster
And left our love to wallow

This time was too late
Suspended beauty in wait
Crumbling our card house
And erasing our fate.

Shallow footsteps
Line a path of hidden sorrow
Blackened leaves are stained
and rain left tears upon the pebbles
So you continue to walk
Mud covered toes carrying you along
With only your dreams in your head
Hoping for him to appear
While his scent surrounds you
But he’ll never show
And from a perfumed breeze
You shiver
The tunnel of trees lies ahead
And this lonely walk
Will be your fantasy
But there is no story to follow
You will create your own.

She said that I could find him
Waiting on my doorstep

But he was never there
and I turned black

It was strange
I think he knew

My head in my hands
I felt only darkness

And another day came
To sweep me away

Every night that space
Continued on empty

It wasn’t lust
He was only scared

So I’ll just keep chasing
A lonely doorstep.
